Not everyone can afford to move house that easily. Heck, some people still have decades worth of mortgage to pay off.

I think PHIVOLCS is trying to warn developers and would-be buyers against putting up new residential developments right along the fault.

For those who already have their houses there, I doubt if it's easy to just move, especially if you're still paying for a mortgage. Siguro vigilance and preparation nalang if the BIG ONE hits.

Sa totoo lang matagal nang alam naman nang mga tao dyan na nasa fault line sila eh. I remember nung college biruan na yung likod nang ADMU, Brgy. Bangkal, yun mismo ang faultline yung daanan na pababa sa likod.

Huwag na lang talaga magpatayo nang sobrang taas na establishment. Tsaka i-improve na lang siguro stuctural integriy nung existing building.

Paano nga kung yung office mo directly sa faultline? Di ka rin naman aalis dahil dun sa risk, lalo na kung okay yung trabaho mo. Siguro disaster preparedness lang talaga like having an emergency kit (food, water, cash in small billa and coins, change of clothes, first aid kit, flashlight, etc etc).

once we're invited for a party, a condo somewhere in BGC. guests are ushered to park their cars to the bottom end of the basement parking. (i found most of the buildings at BGC have relatively small/tight floor area).
lintek kung hindi ako nagkakamali i parked my car 9 floors below the ground! hindi ako claustrophobic but i cannot recall how fast i managed to get out of the building that time when i get my car to leave.

parang sa globe towers yan sa pioneer.... ang lalim ng basement parking..... if i remember it right, nagpark ata ako dun around 7 levels down.... took me around 15 - 20 minutes to reach ground level.

imho, buildings built during the 90s can withstand earthquakes to 8.0 magnitude.

Sadly some developers are in denial and are all about the profits. I was a part of the geologists who mapped the VFS. In 2008 a big developer (whose owners have a popular district named after them) in Cavite blocked our path with a truckload of armed guards and threatened to charge us with trespassing. There is a popular mall in Muntinlupa which straddles the VFS. How they got the permit to build? One can also ask how they managed to cut down those pine trees up north without raising a fuss.

So tama pala ako based on my feelings. Kasi dati ko pa sinasbi yang katipunan going to libis hindi ko ramdam na quezon city.

Kung saan pa mamahalin mga lote yan pa yung mahlupet na dadaanan ng lindol. Pag sa west valley ba magbreak in half or magsink hole?

Ok talaga sa lugar ko. No liquefaction at malayo sa west valley vault. The true quezon city is new manila erod, scout area, banawe, quezon avenue, tomas, timog, araneta ave, cubao, parts of aurora blvd, parts of commonwealth, yung sa circle na paikot na visayas, luzon, mindanao. Pero pag umabot na tandang sora hindi ko na mafeel qc.

Dapat talaga ihati na qc. Yung farview, novaliches dapat sa bulacan na ata ito eh. TApos yung libis katipunan ipasig marikina nyo na yan

From the map, the fault line appears to be on the area between the Mansions and Canlubang Golf Course.

Way beyond the 5 meter recommended distance from the fault for all of Nuvali's villages

But still, a mega quake will affect all of us, directly or indirectly
