There seems to be enough hardware and free software around to set up one's own POS system...pero di ba you have to register these devices with the BIR/DTI? What would the process be should one want to build their own POS and have it registered?

Or do you really need to get the POS from licensed/authorized suppliers? The hardware prices seem reasonable, kaso sobrang mahal nung mismong POS software.

Are receipt printers really that expensive(i.e. 13k upwards)? What about those that print on paper receipts?
