Do you have one? What do you use it for? Is it really useful? I only heard about power banks here at the board when most of MM did not have electricity after the typhoon

Is there a decent power bank for P1500-P2000?

*This is supposed to be a gift for our colleague. If there are any more techie gift suggestions it would be much appreciated.

Cathy, look at Xiaomi powerbanks. Less than 1k for the 10,400mah. Meron sa Lazada. Check xiaomi ph website also. Sikat na sikat ang xiaomi ngayon cause they produce good quality yet cheap products.

Yes, I have one. It is very handy when I forget to charge or use my phone a lot. It also charges faster than from an outlet. I guess because it's DC to DC. Before the techie gift was the USB thumb drive... now it's the power bank. :-)

Yes, computer and cell phone shops carry them. I think even SM appliance store has them.

If it's for backup use, 2000mAH will do, anything bigger would be too large and guys do not bring a bag around.

my recommendation is to get the biggest capacity unit but still bring-able. soon as the person discovers just how useful it is, he's gonna find more uses for it..

In my opinion, 10,400mah is just enough.

Powerbanks are useful if one commutes regularly, if you have a car then a USB cable is good enough.

I agree, I only use the powerbank kapag may out of town trips ako. Parang back-up ko siya kasi kapag may brown-out, at least you can charge your phone. Tapos, powerbank na ang nirere-charge ko sa car kasi at least masira man, mura vs a phone. Masunog pa yun. hehe

Is Bavin a good brand? I saw it on Lazada and it looks really cute. I wonder if it is sold at the mall. I am also looking at Romoss and Yoobao.

Does anyone know where I can buy a BAVIN powerbank? I saw it at Lazada for about P1350 (9000 Mah) but I prefer to buy from a store. My BFF said she can't find any at BGC. I can't find any Xiaomi na at Lazada.

Anker has good reviews on Amazon but I find black boring. I like Bavin because it has different colors

^^^ With these kinds of products, the adage "You get what you pay for" applies. So if you bought the Cooler Master power bank at a higher than price, don't fret, it's probably built better.
