You may have other reason for buying a digicam but you can buy a used DSLR of that price range.
A top of the line smart phone can shoot better than a P10K brand new digicam.

my phone shoots better pictures than my P&S.
it would be worth it if you can get a second hand DSLR or a second hand mirrorless one, than the simple P&S units.
