^ ADSL will suffice since application is more on download. Just check the telco with best data limit and CIR ratio. They don't usually advertise CIR but as a client you have the right to know.

Committed information rate is the way telco budgets the bandwidth in the aggregator routers. Lets say the advertised port speed is 10mb then u got a 1:16 cir this means your bandwidth should not go below 625Kbps at anytime of the day even if the shared bandwidth has been fully utilized.

Kanino pwede itanong yang CIR ratio? Will the csr's have an idea what it is? Also kahit ba di pa ko subscribed sa kanila will they give out that info to me pag nag inquire ako? Thanks bro!

Alam ng csr. During application, alam din ng sales. Hindi lang talaga inaadvertise dunno why. Siguro dahil residential its considered as value added services, NTC has no rules re port speed vs committed speed. Sa leased lines naka stipulate sa contract both.

usually, pag adsl, walang CIR, pero merong minimum na nasa SLA pa ila, halimbawa, yung globe, 3MBPS, pero SLA nile, basta kaabot ka 512kbps, ok pa... pero most of the time, umaabot ka nang download na almost 3mbps... upload though is lesser that download..

pero sa corporate naman... like what we have at the office, we have 20mbps..yung upload/download nun.. halos mag kapareha, pero depende pa din yung sa final source/destination.. it varies.

Kung 3mb ang port speed at 512k ang committed, then 1:6 ang CIR (512/3072).

Sa corpo 1:1 ang most requirement since you have servers and delay-sensitive voice apps na upstream dependent.

update: nakabitan na din ng pldt sa wakas!

turns out that dsl and fibr facilities are different. available pala sa lugar namin ang fibr so we subscribed. nagtataka lang ako di sinabi ng pldt to nung una kami nag apply.

Fiber uses optical mux, ADSL uses DSLAM. Both provides data connectivity using different physical medium(fiber optic/ copper wire). Copper cables are the old infrastructure while optical has been there for a while but its getting more affordable.
