mga sir/mga bro,ano ba ang pagkakaiba ng plasma at lcd?alin ang mas maganda?yung measurement ng plano kong bilhin eh minimum of 107cm.im planning to buy one this weekend.

Viewing Angle: Plasma have a wider viewing angle.

Life Span: Both have good lifespan.

its a war of both platforms akin to betamax and vhs (remember that).

sony has dropped its plasma lines while panasonic has all but dropped its lcd offerings. samsung and others continue to support both but they are finding it harder everyday to support both as improvements happens almost every 2 or 3 months. its becoming costly to have both lines.

Australian company Arasor and US company Novalux demonstrated the world's first Laser Television. The mere incorporation of lasers in any product is cool enough, but the real benefits of putting laser technology into TVs could mean half the production cost, double the color range, and a three-quarters less power consumption when compared to the LCD and plasma TVs of today

“If you look at any screen today, the colour content is roughly about 30-35 per cent of what the eye can see,” said Novalux chief executive Jean-Michel Pelaprat. “But for the very first time with a Laser TV we'll be able to see 90 per cent of what the eye can see... All of a sudden what you see is a lifelike image on display.

Those who saw the demonstration noted that the Mitsubishi-built prototype appeared brighter and clearer than a comparable 50-inch plasma. The prototype was only 1080i capable, but 1080p sets should be ready in time for Laser TV's launch in late 2007.

There may be some confusion, however, as Laser TV technology is suited for projection (either front or rear) rather than flat-panel. Instead of being a completely brand new way to create an image, laser TV takes DLP projection to a level that's capable of surpassing that of plasma. As a result of its projection roots, Laser TVs will likely be slightly thicker than LCD and plasma.

if my conversion is right, you are buying a 46 inch tv, then you need to be at least 12 feet from it to maximize your viewing pleasure..if you sit closer then the images becomes a bit "blurry". Wala pa naman atang high definition signal ng tv ngayon..so you be a bit disappointed with the clarity..also dont forget that the unit your getting has to have at least 2 hdmi ports for your dvd player and a spare one to be used other accessories and in due time, to be used by your cable or satellite tv, when there is high definition signals already available..

if you will use your TV for movies, mas maganda plasma kasi it will show all dark spots properly...I saw this comparison with LCD and plasma yung dark spots nung movie appeared black lang sa LCD but when showed sa plasma may mga nakasulat pala doon...in another scene, sa LCD dark sky lang nakita ko pero sa plasma may mga buildings pala doon.

42" above plasma is the way to go. Sobra mahal mga LCD 40" above. If you can afford the 2 megapixel (1080P) model, get one para future-proof ka sa mga HD sources (blu ray or HD DVD). Look for HDMI inputs too. Always do a actual comparison test, still the best. And bring your favorite movie and make sure the test DVD player is the same as yours , appliance stores usually use a HD generator para dayain yung picture sa TV. ...

better get the LCD para pwede mong i-attach PC mo just in case (am not sure kung pwede i-attach ang plasma sa PC). got my 32" bravia lcd tv months ago. felt bad kasi ung price dropped quickly! whew! sayang. but good thing i didn't get the samsung lcd tv kasi sobrang laki nang binaba. when i got the bravia, it was almost the same price as with the samsung. ngayon, ang laki na nang difference ng price nung 2.
one more thing, kahit HD ready ung lcd, you still can't appreciate it that much kasi di panman ready ung system naten (uhf/vhf channels) for HD. you'll just get to enjoy sheer HD sa mga videos made using HD.

Mas mabigat ang plasma kaysa LCD. Mas malakas din sa power consumption ang plasma compared to LCD.

I got a 32" Sony Bravia (Black Model) also. Nabili ko, yung unang labas, made in Japan pa. May mga lumabas na ngang mura ngayon, yung Malaysian made. I also bought a Samsung DVD (w/ HDMI feature). So far, satisfied naman ako sa LCD ko.

Kinda reminds me of our trip to the Apple Store not too long ago. There were some Macs hooked up to regular computer lcd monitors. But, the big majority were hooked up to bigscreen hdtv's. I think there were plasma tv's included. I could be wrong though.

Don't mind the price drop ... nauna ka na kasing mag-enjoy kesa iba. The last time I checked, yung binili kong Bravia 40" malaki din ibinaba sa price. My friend saved approx. P150k when he bought the same model a year later. Do I regret buying it too early? - Nope ... Isang taon kasing tumutulo laway niya. Mahal pala ang tulo ng laway ko (consuelo-de-bobo ko lang yan )

I was also in the same predicament a year ago. At 50"-above, it's plasma for me. 30'ish-below, there's no choice but LCD. It's around the 40'ish mark where it's difficult to choose between the two. After testing TV's of similar sizes (a Panasonic plasma and Samsung LCD), I was left choosing between a 43" Pioneer plasma and 40" Sony LCD, which were equally priced.

Picture-wise, the plasma was better ... by a bit. Not enough to be really bothered. But because of where and how I want to use it, I went for the LCD.

yeah I saw the pioneer plasma...ang ganda ng clarity parang LCD...but it has better picture quality than LCD esp. for movies kasi its a plasma.... medyo mas mahal lang nga ng konti kaysa sa regular plasma...

Hitachi is also good I saw a 60'' projector tv from hitachi kala mo plasma eh...

best projection tv I saw was the 69" or 60" from sony ganda parang LCD din....
