Your budget dictates what you can afford. Don't push what you can't swallow. If you will only watch TV, CRT is still the best on the budget. If you want a real home theater, think big. Movies coming from DVD are already widescreen. So a small screen will even be smaller. Widescreen CRT are rare, and usually 2nd hand galing Pier. Once na sira, wala na! Always buy with warranty and be sure you know the service center. Between LCD and Plasma, it is still best to test side by side. Plasma consumes a lot of electricity (42" = 300W) But prices are too close to say the other is cheaper. Yung Sony H-LCD 42" RPTV (rear-projection) is 199K, same price as a 42" Sony EDTV Plasma, which is 190K. Panasonic EDTV Plasma is on sale now at around 150K. A good brand for LCD is Syntax-Kolin.
