I would like to play my game left 4 dead via lan.

but I have no Idea how to do this.

    these are the instructions:

to play, enter this in console:
    sv_lan 0
    z_difficulty (easy, normal, advanced, impossible)
    sv_allow_lobby_connect_only 0
    map(space)(arrow down to select map)

To connect to a game being hosted, type in console:
    connect (ip)

but what the heck do you mean by consoles? how do you access it?

    For the pc version:

Console in pc games is normally a text box where you can type in commands/cheats.

For what you want, most modern games should have a multiplayer option that sets up network play without resorting to a console.

thanks Jun. ayun pala ang console. problem ko nalang now is the commands didn't work like many others did. it's originaly steam kasi eh, not made for lan or hamachi.

hope someone is making an easier and effective patch for this to work.

You may have to google around to find the proper workaround.

Me, I don't use the console much except for the occasional cheat or forcing older non-widescreen games to render properly in HDTV monitors like Doom 3, BF 1942/Desert Combat, BF 2, and Command & Conquer: Generals. I already mentioned in earlier posts that I have my gaming pc hooked up to a 720p 32" HDTV.

Well, mucking around with the console or modifying the config/ini files, that is.
