February 17th, 2006 12:25 PM #2Hello,
Back up your PST file
(1) Launch OUTLOOK
(2) Invoke the "Outlook data files" dialog box by selecting the File->Data File Management menu.
(3) On that dialog box, you should see a list. Locate the list entry for "Personal Folders".
(4) Select that entry and click on the "Open folder" button.
(5) Back up the files on the folder that will be opened. Those are your PST files.
Restoring your PST file
(1) On your new outlook, repeat steps 1~4 above.
(2) Replace the personal folder PST file with your backed up PST file.
(3) Restart Outlook
Works for me. :-)

another way:
in outlook xp
to export
file > import and export > export to a file > Personal Folder File
choose what folders you want to export
then transfer the file to your new laptop
file > import and export > import from another program or file Personal Folder File
choose the file you exported
