Ewan ko lang kung alam na ninyo ito but my Oracle instructor told me free na pala ang download ng Oracle products(databases/etc 9i/10g version) from
    www.otn.oracle.com (dati may bayad ito)

Ndi daw limited version ito or trial version but full version pwedeng magamit personal or bisnis use. Kaya lang ang catch ay sa maintenance/support ka magbabayad pag tumawag ka sa help center.

i downloaded the 10g version and nainstall ko sa PC ko and ayos talaga.
well kung gusto ninyo magpractice ng oracle database or magstart magdevelop ng app as sideline or freelancer check it out.

iyong Borland Jbuilder IDE libre din iyon ginagamit ko sa work magdevelop ng java app.

yeah you can download it in oracle (i think since 8i days pa) pero I believe if you want to use it for your business you have to pay the license fees either by user or by the number of your server processors.

    Thanks.

buknoy2002: ala pa kasama ata tut eto(10g)... kahit un documentation hiwalay na idodownload :-(

It is free for development. If you will use it in a production environment you will have to pay.

Making it free encourages individual developers and application development groups/companies to build using Oracle products. I used to have the complete CD set, they gave it away during one of their product launches. Pinamigay ko na rin. San ba naman ako mag-iinstall ng Oracle Server for Unix?

ang alam ko you must have some good hardware for that to put it into use since it does heavy computing jobs....

They did give out Oracle on Linux, which you can probably run on a desktop-class P4 with 512MB RAM, but will probably really just play around with it.

Oracle on Windows, though not as stable back then as it was on Unix, will not run properly on a single-CPU machine...

super duper ser ang intro and tutorials...install/development and reference meron din...hundred of megs noong nagdowload ako eh.

    flavor ay win32/win64 bit/linux/hpux/etc...

    depende sa kumporme

madali lang maginstall ilang tanong lang up and running na agad ang database.

base sa aking bubwit...i.e. Oracle instructor ko(he's from Oracle headquarters in Redmond CA)...free din to use for a business kaya lang ang babayaran ay iyong support contract...ndi ko sure ha...yan lang narinig ko mismo sa vivig niya.

anyways, kung magdedevelop ka naman ng system apps as sideline pwede kang magprotype ng db and then iyong client mo ang syempre bahala sa support so wala ka namang sagot doon sa bayad or what have you.

good thing of course ay magandang plaftform itong gawin. ginawa ko yan dati noong taong 93 and beyond...clipper database and foxpro gramit ko for dos...gumagawa ako ng system for schools/hospitals/farms/and hardware so oks talaga kita.

    yup hiwalay nga ang docs...

ser pag may tanong ka sa oracle db and how to develop java app post mo lang susubukan kong sagutin.

pag gusto mo magdevelop java app...download mo ay Jbuilder from Borland(iyong personal edition) libre yan...may ide and compiler yan din gamit ko sa work with oracle 9i.
