Which is more practical, a side-by-side (SS) or french door (FD) refrigerator?

SS refs have narrower shelves (especially the freezer part) and can't fit wide items like pizzas and cakes.
FDs have bottom drawer type freezers, and some items might be forgotten if they get to the bottom of the drawer.

Also, are the drawer guides of FDs durable?

    Some related questions:
How many ice cubes can the built-in ice dispenser make in a day?
How many liters of cold water can the water dispenser produce, like if I'm going to fill 8 glasses of water at once, will the last glass still be cold?

I have a french door ref and before that I had a SS type ref. Personally I like the french door ref better. Easy to load stuff in with the big wide doors.

FD types also have a chiller section where you can keep stuff really cold but not frozen.

I'm currently considering this french door ref by Fisher & Paykel:

I'm just wondering how many liters of chilled water is the capacity of its water dispenser. It's not indicated in the manual.

As for the ice maker, it can only produce 8 cubes of ice every 2-3hrs.

I can get you a special discount for Fisher and Paykel if you need. I personally know the owner.

Got a VIKING Side-by-Side fridge directly from them.

PM'ed you my number. Tx me if you are getting already.

You can hide bodies in the chest type freezer. :D

Depends also on your needs; if you really load a lot of bulky foodstuff then the larger door of the FD ref seems better. For me, I like the eye-level view for both freezer and ref of our SS type ref (although i'm eyeing the Panasonic Inverter ref as a replacement). In terms of looks, the FD does look great in a modern kitchen. If you want side-by-side but with more space did you check if they have aseparate freezer and ref unit? I recall seeing something like that before.

One concern with the high-end ref with the metal finish... if they get dented can they be repaired (ala PDR)? I noticed that on my sister's almost new ref (one of the kids accidentally hit it with their baseball bat).

Fisher & Paykel have separate freezer and ref units that can be joined together to look like it's only one whole unit. But the space for the ref in my kitchen can only fit a standard side-by-side or french door ref.

*shadow, may date din sa packaging yung mga laman ng ref/freezer namin. Naka individually packed pa per lutuan. Problema lang yung pagnatabunan na sa ilalim, baka makalimutan.

Is there service available at your place in case the need arises? We had bad service in Pampanga with G.E.

Good buy... kulang nalang French maid serving French Fries with a French kiss to top off the delivery.
