^I know...but ang sinasabi ko among the iphone models parang iphone 4 and hinde masyadong nag click, maybe nag die down na ang excitement dahil wala naman masyadong binago sa 3GS. of course compare to the 1st, 2nd gen lamang talaga but compare to 3GS tingin ko hinde, I don't have the numbers but that's what my observation.

Out of all the iphones 3Gs ang pinaka mababa ang sales, since yung mga naka 3G karamihan di nag palit kasi the only difference was the speed, so yung mga naka 3G na waited for the next iphone to come out na lang. The difference naman ng 3Gs and 4 is the looks, faster OS, graphics, retina display, multi tasking and higher resolution camera that's why dami nag upgrade to IP4.

Officially confirmed: iPhone 5 comes on October 4th - GSMArena.com news

Officially confirmed: iPhone 5 comes on October 4th
    27 September, 2011

That's that then - the invitations have been sent and it has been officially confirmed that we are just a week away from seeing the next iPhone. The announcement will take place next Tuesday in a rather unusual place - the Apple campus in Cupertino.

Normally those things happen in other venues in San Francisco, but this time Apple will be inviting journalists to its home. There's an outside chance that this is done so they can make LTE demonstrations, without depending on the (still rather spotty) LTE coverage. Still, most rumors suggest that the iPhone 5 won't have an LTE radio so we wouldn't bet our houses on that.

However, the most exciting part about the event is the number of smartphones that will be announced. We received information from at least two reputable sources that more than one iPhone will be revealed, but if the invitation is to serve as a clue, it's only going to be one.

The first three icons describe the date, time and location of the event, so we assume that the number of missed calls on the last one indicates that we won't be getting both an iPhone 5 and an iPhone 4S.

Update: Interestingly, BGR.com has evidence that AT&T has issued a vacation blackout order to its employees for the middle of October, which naturally leads us to believe that the next iPhone will launch somewhere around that time.

Anyway, the event is now less than 7 days away so the end of this seemingly endless guessing game is near.

The new model, which some have dubbed the iPhone 5, will have a bigger touch screen, better antenna and an 8-megapixel camera, one source with knowledge of the matter told Reuters in August.

    Nilakihan yung screen, ala GS2?

Another iPhone prototype lost -in China - Technology - GMA News Online - Latest Philippine News

Another iPhone prototype lost -in China
    09/28/2011 | 12:10 PM

Aside from a bar in San Francisco last July, another prototype of Apple Inc.'s upcoming iPhone 5 may have also been lost in China as well, a tech site reported.

The missing prototype was from the Foxconn factory in Shenzhen Futian district, according to a report on tech site MicGadget.

"This should explain why we are seeing a whole lot of iPhone 5 cases in China today," it said.

MicGadget cited a supplier who said the missing prototype is said to have been enclosed in a case to disguise it as a current-generation iPhone 4.

Such a tactic was similar to the disguising of a prototype iPhone 4 as a previous-generation iPhone 3GS that was acquired by Gizmodo, it noted.

    Apple outsmarted?

MicGadget said Apple may have been outsmarted by the person who took the prototype.

It said the person wiped the prototype's software, disabling the GPS hardware needed to track it down.

The prototype was then allegedly sold to one of the iPhone case manufacturers for RMB ¥20,000 (about $3,100).

"We were told that Foxconn was aware of the loss and had penalized internal management for the incident. We also heard from another source that the person who 'lost' it was paid to do so," MicGadget said.

It added this case is similar to the iPad 2 leak reported back in June, where three men were jailed for stealing unreleased information about the Apple tablet.

"What seems to strongly support the claim that an iPhone 5 prototype with the final chassis design has indeed landed into the hands of case manufacturers is that, weeks ahead of the iPhone 5 launch, we are already seeing a plethora of iPhone 5 cases for sale from many case manufacturers. Some even claim to have shipped 'thousands' of these cases," it said.

    Finalized iphone 5 design

According to the MicGadget report, the missing iPhone prototype was a test model with a finalized iPhone 5 chassis featuring the tear-drop design.

"However, the interesting thing about it is that it apparently houses what we assume to be slightly modified iPhone 4 electronics with components such as the A4 chip and even the same amount of memory," it said.

    Case vendors in China

MicGadget noted one of the case vendors is selling the iPhone 5 cases on Taobao (eBay of China).

It said some of the fancier ones include the silicone cases molded into the shape of a cute, one-toothed devil with horns; semi-transparent polycarbonate cases with a color gradient and 3D raindrop pattern; and hard transparent cases with plastic jewellery glued on, arranged in the form of cartoon characters and other intricate patterns.

"These fancy designs look similar to the iPhone 4 cases in the market," it said.

Considering that producing a mold for silicone cases costs tens of thousands of RMB and a mold for hard plastic cases costs even more, the variety of such cases already available for purchase indicates case manufacturers have access to what is believed to be the prototype of the iPhone 5 with the finalized design.

"It is not simply getting tipped on the dimensions and shapes of the next iPhone to make the molds," it said. — TJD, GMA News

Nah. I don't think that this is the next iPhone. Apple will release their latest product yet and it is the iPhone 5. Didn't heard about iPhone 4 Prototype though.

Iphone 4S has just been announced. Highlight so far is the A5 dual core processor, 8 megapixels camera that can record 1080P HD videos, new OS, Siri (voice recognition assistant). Mostly internal restyling. The outside looks much like Iphone 4.

Many feel disappointed at the 4S. Still using the already "tiny" 3.5" screen while Androids are going 4.3"-4.5" screens. Dual core 1 ghz while androids are already 1.2-1.5 ghz dual core. 8 mp which is common to high end androids. Wala yung expected "innovations" , more like playing catch-up with android "innovations". Apple more content at suing it's rivals, especially it's biggest supplier.

The saving grace is still its music player. My Android OS phone, even with correct ID3 tags, likes to butcher my track list always.

But for telephony, I'll always choose a Nokia.
