speaking of longevity..
we still have our 18 (or 20?) year old 25 inch flat screen cathode ray tube TV by sony, as our main TV. we already replaced the worn-out remote, twice.
and aside from the on/off switch circuitry, which already had to be fixed twice, the TV still works great.
