Some information about soon to be released Smartphones. Articles and pictures of Nokia 6630, Palm Treo 650, and the recently released Sony Ericsson P910.

    Nokia 6630
    Source: Mobileburn.com

Nokia today unveiled their latest 3G handset, the 6630, which they claim is the smallest "megapixel phone for GSM and WCDMA networks." The new handset supports WCDMA networks and has triband (900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, which means it should keep you connected pretty much anywhere you care to go. Downlink data speeds of up to 384Kbps are possible, and uplink speeds of up to 128Kbps are also within reach. You can take advantage of that through the new IMAP-IDLE email support, which allows new email to be pushed to your handset (a feature of the new Series 60 Second Edition).
The 1.23 megapixel camera with 6x digital zoom is sure to garner some interest, as its ability to record videos of up to 1 hour in length. Photos can be sent directly to certain HP and Kodak printers. The 6630 is capable of both streaming real-time audio and video and is MP3 capable (though no mention was made of stereo support). Nokia mentions that the phone is capable of video calls, too. The 6630 ships with the RealOne player, which can play both RealMedia and 3GPP files. Media storage can be augmented through the MMC memory card slot.
Bluetooth support is also built-in, as is support for Nokia's new Bluetooth keyboard that was also announced. While not tiny, its size of 110mm x 60mm x 20.6mm and weight of 127g put it about on par with the 6600/6620, which consumers will probably find acceptable considering the functionality the 6630 provides.
Nokia expects the 6630 to be available in Q4 of this year. It expects the price of the handset to be less than 500EUR when purchased without a contract.

    Sony Ericsson P910
    Source: Mobileburn.com
Sony Ericsson today released their new communicator device, the widely anticipated P910. As we saw when an internal Power Point presentation got leaked some months ago, the P910 makes use of the same basic design as used by the P900, but incorporates a full QWERTY thumb board into the underside of the keypad flip.
Most specs of the P910 remain the same as those of the P900, but there are a handful of noteworthy exceptions. For one, the internal memory was bumped up from 16MB to 64MB. Also in the memory/storage department, the P910 will ship with a 32MB memory card instead of the 16MB unit shipped with the P900. What is likely to please a lot of P900 users is the fact that the new P910 will support the Memory Stick Duo Pro format, which can reach capacities of up to 1GB in size, a far cry better than the 128MB limit imposed on the P900.
Other changes include an upgrade in the display. The new display is capable of displaying 262k colors. And unlike the P900, there will be a version of the P910 for the Americas markets called the P910a that, while still triband, supports the 850/1800/1900Mhz bands instead of the normal 900/1800/1900Mhz bands. The P910c for the Chinese market will support 900/1800/1900Mhz, as will the P910i that is meant for all remaining markets not covered by the other two.

Sadly, some things stayed the same that we would have liked to have seen upgraded. The major one being the P910's still VGA resolution camera. The rest of the hardware specs look much like they were copied from the P900's design, which is no surprise.

    Long-Awaited Treo 650 unveiled
    Source: Mobileburn.com

A user of the TreoCentral forums has released the first live pictures of palmone's long-awaited Treo 650 smartphone, the update to last year's popular Treo 600 smartphone. The Treo 650 features improvements in almost every area, with a faster 312MHz processor, 32MB RAM, 320x320 pixel resolution display (compared to 160x160 in the Treo 600), and one megapixel digital camera.
One of the major features lacking in the original Treo 600 was Bluetooth support, so we're glad to hear that it is very likely that Bluetooth will be implemented in the upgrade. Another feature lacking in the Treo 600 was dedicated answer/hangup buttons and a removable battery. Many heavy users are used to having a spare battery so they can talk 4-8 hours per day. Finally, Treo 650 users will be able to do the same.
Other improvements include a mirror for taking self portraits, a bigger speaker, a slightly more recessed SD card slot, and possibly even Push To Talk functionality. Overall, the Treo 650 looks like a very impressive upgrade with almost everything we could have asked for but Wi-Fi. While the specs we have aren't final, they should be in the ballpark.

Nokia 6630 and Palm Treo 650 have megapixel Cam while Sony Erisson P910 only has a VGA cam. Bluetooth comes with all of the new Smartphones.

Thank you for the information and I found the merged thread. Seriously, I found it ridiculous reading 37 pages of a single thread about Smartphones with different topics. Just my opinion but if that's how the moderators feel about it, I guess I just have to respect that.

    Thanks!!

Oks lang. This thread can stay here.

I haven't tried the 6630 as we dont have it yet. Yung P910i okay lang.... same as P900 except with the QWERTY kb. Nothing worth mentioning. Yung built-in email software nun inaalok sa amin pero di ko inapprove hehehe. Hindi kasi ako nilibre ng lunch nung vendor e. j/k

hmm how usable is the P910's QWERTY keypad on that fragile-looking flap?

at pwede bang hawakan ng ganyan yung keypad ng P910, mukhang mababali kasi yung flip niyan pag ganyan e hehehe

The P910i's qwerty is strong enough. kaya lang i still ponder it's useability. I for one am not too hot on the idea of full keyboards whether on PDAs or smartphones.
