May 3rd, 2009 10:24 PM #1hi peeps,
can't seem to find any glaring differences between the two, yet the SL400 is a lot more expensive. Bakit kaya?

Aling variants po yan? Iyung mga nasa Villman, mas mahal ang Y430.
http://villman.com/Product-Detail/LE...430_(5901-7581) Php49,992.00
http://villman.com/Product-Detail/SL400__274357A Php39,996.00
Between those two, I'd get the SL400 just for the HD protection (Active Protection System or APS).

May 15th, 2009 10:40 PM #4the reviews on the SL400(www.notebookreview.com) aren't that good; i might get the R400 instead.
problema mas mahal and R400...i'm planning to get the minimum RAM and HD available(1gb DDR3 and 160gb sata) to cut down on the cost, i'm banking on the hardware getting cheaper by the time i really need the ram/disk space. is this wise?

Pros:
- Affordable price
- ThinkPad quality keyboard and trackpoint
- Good screen (matte option is great)
- Solid performance
- Nice pre-configured options
- Stays cool and quiet
Cons:
- Thick and boxy overall
- Weak speakers
- Glossy lid is a magnet for fingerprints and dirt
- Plastics are thin and weak in some places
- Weak hinge tension on display lid
For less than $500, I can live with the cons and enjoy those pros.
Which variant of the R400 are you referring to? The price widely ranges from 649 to 1600+ (!).Last edited by woohoo; May 16th, 2009 at 08:07 AM.
