    The first picture is my sister's, the handle broke off so they epoxied it and flipped the handle around.

    The 2nd is a friend's. The handle broke off as well.

    There could be hundreds of these lemon Whirlpool refs...

    What a whirly Cesspool of crap

    Such low quality from a supposedly US brand...

    my sister's whirlpool ref broke down twice, first to go was the temp relay of the compressor according to the technician, after 4 years the compressor died... buti nalang warranty pa... sabi nung sa service center samsung na daw kasi yung whirlpool...

    Errh... never thought of Whirlpool as upscale. We had a Whirlpool washer... utter piece of cr*p.

    our whirlpool washer has been perfectly working for 10 years. our whirlpool ref has also been working great for more or less 5 years. so probably just a bad set for you guys.

    i have a whirlpool ref, 2 door side by side, been using it for more than 6 months, no probs naman super lamig pa nga so i set the freezer and ref temp to 1 only.

    buti pa pala ang korean made na LG, more than 5 years or 6 na ata, kahit isa walang naging problema. natapos na lang ang 5 years warranty eh walang nasira. pero ang matindi white westinghouse namin. matanda pa sakin.. still working. lakas lang mag yelo ang freezer. la pa kasi dati nung auto defrost eh..

    To be fair, though, our Whirlpool washing machine was on the cheap end of the scale.

    I guess it depends, a lot of brands have entry level stuff, mid-level and high-level stuff.

    I love my LG ref... when it's the only thing running in the house, the electric meter barely even moves. I think it consumes less than 50 pesos a month.

    Agree ako riyan........the best pa rin yung GE at Westinghouse when it comes to refrigerators. Meron kaming GE ref (10 cu.ft), 1987 pa namin nabili ito. Hanggang ngayon, buhay pa! Napapakinabangan pa sa probinsiya. Mga minor repairs pa lang ang ginawa, sumasabay pa rin sa mga bagong units namin.

    buti na lang mahal ang whirlpool...kaya hindi ako napabili...i settled for samsung ref...imho matibay at may hi tech chuvaness pa to keep veggie/fruits/clean or something...

    Whirlpool ref ko din nasira kaagad yung electronic board (or parang ganun). So tunog ng tunog yung buzzer, then auto-off yung ref. Masama nun, 3 days after the 1 yr warranty expired. Sabi ko 1 yr from purchase date, pero less than a yr from delivery date. Purchase date daw basis, so hindi na ako nakipagtalo, less than 2000 php lang naman replacement.

    Pero hindi na ako bibili ulit ng Whirlpool.

    i think mas ok lagyan ng AVR para safe, whirlpool ko naka AVR na 2KVA para safe sa fluctuations.
