nasa over 100 lumens per watt ang latet tech sa LEDs.
Di magtatagal, dadami na rin ang dimmable LED bulbs dito sa atin.

Just sharing this ad i saw in another forum. This is the GES with 2year warranty. Ang baba na ng SRP. Almost comparable to cfls na.
Tinakpan ko lang yung address and phone nung seller. Alam ko less 15% pa yata for the other forum's members.

Have you noticed that some LED bulbs have their LEDs turned on(very low intensity though), even if the power is off?
Check out your LED bulbs....

I looked at the GES 7 watt led while in True Value. Lumen rating is 810 lumen. I looked at the CFL's to compare lumens. Turns out GE 14 watt CFL is also 810 lumen. The 18 watt cfl was around 1000 lumens. So based on the lumen ratings, the 7 watt led is only equal to 14 watts CFL and not 23 watts as claimed by the manufacturer.
Is there a difference on how they test?
as per actual experience, 9w LED replaces 23w CFL. more or less same brightness siya. parang mataas kasi yung declared lumens rating ng CFLs sa packaging. another advantage ng LED is that downward yung light pattern niya, while sa CFL directional. kaya mukhang mas maliwanag ang LED.
I know they can squeeze more lumens out of CFLs for a given Watt. However, they usually do so at the expense of decreased operational lifetime. A few of the CFLs we used to have would start to burn and melt towards the end of their lives.
FWIW, the spiral type CFLs produces more light than the traditional 'straight' ones but usually costs more.
Several months ago, I compared four light bulbs that can be seen in post 36 of this same thread: http://tsikot.com/forums/science-tec...ml#post1989530
the parking area of 6750 has already replaced their fluorescent light tubes to LEDs. its much brighter na. also noticed the used GES brand. looking at the tubes, you wouldnt notice that its LED. you wont see the LED chips kasi.
Latest count, I replaced almost 40 CFLs in our house with LED bulbs....
And, about half of them are turned on all night....

imho, mas maganda yung spread ng ilaw sa spiral compared to LEDs...haven't seen one that throws light at the sides as well.
Maybe it's because of the low ceiling, but the LED bulb i bought for my room just doesn't quite cut it. Planning to experiment with an LED tube. i bought one from CDR King for my fish tank, knock on wood di pa naman sumabog o lumiyab![]()
That's my problem with the LEDs I used to replace our outdoor 25w CFLs. They're just as bright, but most of the light is going the wrong way. Really need to put a reflector in the housing better than the cut-up foil-covered paper plates that are there now.![]()
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Switching to LEDs will sometimes require looking at some design considerations. If it's outdoors, you'd want a weather-proof lamp holder and ideally a sealed LED parabolic (PAR) lamp to have better control on where you want the lights to be pointed at.
