how long are you planning to keep the unit? because everything (digital media) will be on next-gen formats eventually, so why not get something you can use for the long term? blu-ray players look ridiculously expensive now, but do did dvd players 10 years ago. now you can get them for very low prices...
i also question whether you'll be able to resist the blu-ray bug after trying it :D i know i haven't :hihihi:
