La Niña 2016-2018

A la niña watch has been issued in most countries in the pacific region and other regions as well. PAGASA has yet to issue a statement. We are still in the last few months of el niño.

Historically, (my limited research)
Ondoy 2008 was a post Elniño event
Yolanda 2013 was a pre Elniño event


2015-2016 was the hottest year on record, with a longer elniño cycle. We might have a couple of years with heavy rains/typhoons. Worse is the very heavy to severe rains that may occur.

another negative side is flash floods sa mga flood prone areas, mapapagastos ka tuloy sa acts of god sa insurance, tapos pag nabaha sasakyan mo, palpak din naman ang gawa ng insurance... sorry ka na lang kung mag pabaya ang gobyerno na di ayusin ang mga flood prone areas...

pero sa ibang lugar, inayos nga ng gobyerno ang drainage pero sinabotage naman ng mga squatters at binarahan ito para may pag ka kitahan sila sa baha tulad ng gawa nila improvised na tulay o kaya naman overpriced fares sa pedicab/banka nila maka tawid ka lang sa baha
