From what I know, HP has an "ultra-portable" with screen size of 11.8inch that has Core i3.

You can also check out the other netbooks equipped with AMD E-350 or AMD E-450 processors, they are much faster than the typical Intel Atom series of processors but slower than Intel dual-core CPUs.

The "HP DM1 with Intel Core i3-2367M 1.4GHz" is currently priced at P26.9K... formerly it was priced at P29.9K (but comes with external optical drive). Netbook only in size. It's CPU places it above from being a netbook, it's an "ultra-portable" laptop. Downside, with it's "basic" Intel HD 3000 GPU, you can cannot play complex video games.

Considering the cheapest HP laptop with i3 cpu is P24.9K has a 14in LCD and built-in optical drive, the DM1 with i3 is kinda pricey but netbook sized laptops (under 12 inch screen sizes) with faster CPUs are few. You'll have to look at laptops with 13 to 14 inch screen size to have more options to choose from.

Your best choice for 11-12 inch netbooks would be the ones with the dual core AMD E450 or dual core Intel Atom N2600/2800 cpus. Not the fastest but they are the affordable options, usually between P15k to P20K.

Nice find... as for the battery, if you need a bigger battery you can check if you can find 6cell battery packs from online sellers.

Acers laptop/netbook price should be lower than HP.

This is the exact model I bought for 24,000 cash one year ago. No OS though.

And one year later, going strong, use it mainly for gaming but not the hardcore type since it's only an i3.
