cons? both expensive! Laptop: pros: upgradeability, power, versatility, battery life. cons: Heavier, battery life suffers depending on amount of power/toys. Tablet: Pros: handy, portable, pogi points, Cons: more expensive compared to same ability laptop

April 5th, 2006 01:46 AM #3From recent experience... laptops are far far more sturdy than today's tablets... and fewer compromises to boot. Then again, na sa gumagamit yan.

Pros - you can write directly on the screen of a tablet using a stylus thus can be used without a keyboard (detachable), more handy due to its lighter weight, newer technology (speech recognition software, wireless internet connection)
Cons - less sturdy (on most models but there are ruged ones), cost

Laptop for me... i see little practical use out of a tablet PC for my purposes.

my 2 cents,
its slower to type on a tablet's screen than on a notebook's keyboard.
choice of either a tablet or notebook is really up to your requirements for a portable computer. Do you need a fast input and versatility in use or just a system to read/playback/display certain imformation only?

if you dont like using PDA's, I suggest mag laptop ka na lang. I used a tablet pc for a week, mahirap din gamitin at umiinit din sa ilalim so I doubt na ma-hold mo sya ng matagal sa braso mo.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
