Iphone dies down at half empty battery

Hi peeps. After so much tinkering I was able to upgrade my old AT&T 3gs to v6.1.3 and did a factory unlock as well. Now it looks like a 4S! My problem is the frequent shut down even if battery is half charged and will not boot up unless connected to a charger. is this something related to the battery?

most likely and most probably sir.

if you let it that way, the next thing that will happen is damaged component on the board.

most probably a battery issue. you could have it replace in gh.
