How to convert a dvd player to multi-region

anyone here owns a philips dvd player? would you happen to know how to "hack" it so that it will play "All Regions"? May nabili kase ako dirt cheap player here in China. Orig naman and from the mall. It plays bootleg dvd's well, pero pagdating sa orig US dvds(region 1) that I bought a couple of week ago ayaw tanggapin

The manual says it plays reg 6 and "all" dvd's. Baka kase pede sya i-bypass like my Harman Kardon DVD player back home in the philippines. May set of keys na pipindutin sa remote para maging multi region sya. Does Philips also have this? thanks!!!!!

Yung sa Bose na DVD player (Lyfestyle Series), pwede i-set yan via remote control. Pero kung nahirapan ka Sir, at di ma-solve via remote control, dalhin mo sa Greenhills, tiyak solve problema mo. Sigurado alam nila gagawin diyan.

here in HKG, all dvd players, branded or otherwise are region free.
