Mga bossing, I need help. Medyo bago lang ako sa WLAN and LAN installation. I just recently installed a router para I can use my laptop and pc desktop simultaneously for surfing the net. So far, so good. My problem is I can't connect sa Lan games. I tried using the old Starcraft game and hinahanapan ako IPX. It says I need to put ipx on the other pc. Paano ba maglagay nun? Gusto ko kasi makipaglaro ng games sa mga anak ko, me on the laptop and them sa desktop. Paano ba i-setup lan games using my Linksys WRT54GC?

    Salamat mga repapips!

If i am not mistaken, this has something to do with PORT FORWARDING.

Please read your Router's manual, it's stated there how to do it.

I'm not so familiar with the procedure because i haven't tried online games yet.

Contradicting pahayag ninyong dalawa ni Robin at HP. Which is which. So far, wala ako mabasa port forwarding sa Linksys ko kasi web based ko siya na setup.

sa network setting ng pc mo sir binabago....
magi-install ka ng ipx then ise-set mo ung properties nung ipx...
meron nang ipx na available sa pc nyo...you just need to install it...
ung mga settings ng ipx, di ko na matandaan..kung nagla-lan na kayo dati using your desktop, you can just check its setting para gayahin dun sa laptop...
to check kung meron na dun sa desktop...go to
start --> setting --> network connection --> local area network
    then
ung lalabas na screen, click nyo ung property button, meron ulit isa pang screen na lalabas showing the different items available for connection..check kung may ipx item..select it then click the property button...lalabas ung settings nya....

    kung wala pang naka-install
click install button then protocol, select IPX...press ok...then go back to
LAN connection property screen.select ung IPX then make the necessary settings...
ung settings ng IPX, baka meron sa homepage ng mga LAN games...
    hope this works

wala po talaga sa router yan kasi LAN games lang naman lalaruin nyo; yung sinabi ni HP is for playing internet online games.

    try to follow this instructions

    1. Open Network Connections
    2. Under LAN or High-Speed Internet, click the local area connection for the home or small office network.
    3. Under Network Tasks, click Change settings of this connection.
    4. In Local Area Network Properties, click Install.
    5. In Select Network Component Type, click Protocol, and then click Add.
    6. Click NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS Compatible Transport Protocol, click OK, and then click Close.

    source: Microsoft

usually after adding the IPX protocol wala ka na gagawin to play starcraft. at least thats what i remember (its been a while since nag windows ako eh)

edit: just in case you're curious yung port forwarding ng linksys router mo sa web-based control panel is under the Applications & Gaming -> Port Range Forward tabs.

Eto ba yung network connections? Nasaan yung connection for home or small office network dito?

I clicked the Smartbro connections and went to the properties tab at ito yung nakita ko. Where is the Network task para may change ko setting ng connection ko?

When I connect to Starcraft LOCAL AREA NETWORK [IPX], eto yung nakita ko:

Requirements: Your computer will need the ipx protocol installed, and it must be connected to your opponents' computer via local area network cables.

Di ba kahit hindi naka connect via cable yung laptop ko eh pwede pa din via wireless wifi connection?
