I have an Acoustimas set of speakers. Pero AV receiver ko Yamaha. The price of their Lyfestyle series is just too much.

Anyway, pwede ba i-upgrade yung existing kong 5.1 amp. ko to 7.1? Paano?

hi, weve just recently boughta 37" toshiba LCD and i wanted to improve our existing "psuedo HT" setup at home. Im using a Pioneer Pro-Logic receiver (circa early 2000) and a couple of Bose speakers. I have a generic center speaker and two other generic satellite speakers. The only thing that my setup is missing is a subwoofer. I wanted to buy a decent subwoofer, and im really not particular about name brands, since im not really an audiophile and i wouldnt be able to distinguish a good brand from a decent brand anyway. Kahit local brands lang, im not really looking to spend a whole lot for this, i guess around 2k lang budget ko.
Also, how would i know whether my Pioneer Receiver would be able to handle it if i add an additional woofer.

Get a powered subwoofer. Dai-chi is a good brand, bang of the buck ika nga. Very few Pro-logic AVR have subwoofer (low) out jacks so the way to go is you rca line out and just use the cut-off freq control in your sub. Remember, low freq signal is non directional so one of the two (L/R) channel can be fed to the subwoofer line in jack. Another option is to directly feed the speaker out (spkr B) to the sub speaker in. If you only use your sub-woofer for your dvd player you can use the sub out of your dvd player assuming if it is of the generic brand.
