maraming ht and audio set-ups sa pdvd. from entry level to hi-end ones. a lot of gurus there when it comes to both ht and home audio gears.

i saw the receiver you posted, i think its 7.2ch capable. so from 3.1 set up, you can develop further and add 2 more rear speakers then 2 ceiling speakers for a full 5.1.2 dolby atmos set up. well, it depends on your budget and yung area na paglalagyan mo.

Yes, you are right. It’s a 7.2 amplier and atmos ready... dahan2 lang muna ako..

    currently 3.1 >next 5 years 5.1> next 5years 7.1.>after 5 years 7.1.2> all klipsch referrence premier speakers plan ko...

20years ko buohin ang 7.1.2 with atmos set-up... mas feasible pa yung 5.1 na set up kasi by the time na mag 7.1 na ako baka obsolete na rin yung speakers and amplifier ko.. pero hoping na may extra mulah for in the in 5 years para ma buo ko lahat...

that's a good plan bro. pero kapag tinamaan ka ng upgraditis, medyo masyado mahaba yan every 5 years moHome Theater Thread i suggest get a mid-tier or best receiver you can afford so its a bit future proof.

bagay nga dapat sa pdvd ka if available sana, ang dami dun, mapamangha ka sa set ups. ganyan din ako dati, gusto ko magbuild but i restrained myself muna and settled sa minimalist soundbar. although i have a dedicated room sa house intented for audio/ht room, treated with rockwool panels sa walls pero wala pang gears. nakaabang lang muna for future build. check mo fb page ng Sound and Vision Home Entertainment, as a reference lang. diyan ako nagtitingin dati ng mga HT packages na binibili ng mga consumers.

goodluck sa HT build, don't get bitten much of the ht bug bro, its itchy and it will cause you to scratch the deepest part of your pocket. do not stick to a single brand too, ang daming brands around to consider. it may sound good sa shop you auditioned, but it may sound different pagdating sa build mo na.

next good thing to have kung mag HT build ka is to invest in a good streaming 4k media player. so you can hook up to wide array of online movies and games like the ones you mentioned or play downloaded movies. ok din naman kung may smart tv ka na pero iba pa rin picture quality kapag may media player that can play 4k format. zidoo, popcorn hour, unbox tech, himedia, nvdia, etc are some brands you can check. i have the old zidoo x9s i bought about 2yrs ago from a pdvd seller and its all good, outdated na nga lang ngayon. i think hindi mo ma-maximize ang viewing experience mo kahit maganda ang sound kung mediocre ang pictureHome Theater Thread btw, hindi kita kinukulam ha? sinasabi ko langHome Theater Thread

I previously wanted a full HT system for our home but I decided to go for a JBL Bar 3.1 soundbar and have been very happy with it so far.

Surprisingly, the JBL Bar 3.1 has better clarity and stronger bass than our 11-year old 5.1 Sony HT. Technology has advanced quite a lot with so more punch in a much smaller package.

Mine is a hodge-podge 5.1, budget is relatively cheap: Onkyo 7.1 receiver (P9,800 from PinoyDVD), Sony old-school floor standers (picked up free from my Japanese university dumpster), Kenwood bookshelfs as surrounds (came with a mini-component * P2,500 from a Japanese surplus shop in Cabanatuan City, my friend took the component for P1,700 so it only cost me P800), Wharfedale center (P1,500 from PinoyDVD) and US Audio subwoofer (P2,000 from PinoyDVD). Tambay-tambay ka lang sa PDVD, ang dami adik dun hehe.

First time to actually try out our basic Sony Home Theater set this evening, more than 5 years untouched in box sa attic. The new Sony TV recognizes it as an audio system pero wala lumalabas na sound, then di rin siya compatible sa Home Theater Control feature, sayang hehe.

may i ask what cable did you use to connect the speaker set to your tv? optical ba or hdmi? i suggest try an optical connection para yung audio lang i transmit ng tv

If you are using hdmi to connect your sound system to your tv, be sure to use ARC port and that no other hdmi connections to your tv exists (i.e. cable channel, dvd, blueray, etc.).
