My dad has a Sony DSG-T1 camera.
The problem is there is no picture coming out from the LCD. The LCD screen works because it can display the menu selection, etc. It will not display what images is supposedly taken by the camera itself. I have tried resetting the camera but same problem still exists.
My suspicion is the CCD sensor itself might have failed.
I know the T1 is old and does have a design defect where the pictures aren't as sharp because of the periscope arrangement of the lens, but if I can get the camera to work without resorting to a visit to the Sony service center, it would be a help.

Have you tried snapping a pic and view it in your PC? This would determine if the CCD is busted or not.

Went to the Sony service center. They fixed it without charging me a cent. They fixed within 30 minutes as they asked me to wait for it.
I think it has to do with a design defect and another one of those silent recalls.Last edited by ghosthunter; April 28th, 2009 at 03:27 PM.
