for performance, i think it's a toss up between the acer and the compaq based on the specs. build quality is good for lenovo.
if i were you, i would choose compaq over acer because it looks better (looks \styling is important), pero sa graphics, acer has an edge over the compaq but then again compaq has a little bit faster processor. choices, choices, decisions, decisions. yung lenovo talo sa specs vs. sa 2.

May 18th, 2009 12:00 AM #3sir toyboxph thanks for the reply your observation and input are similar to mine.. sabi iba good brand lenovo but i dont like the specs honestly thats why im torn between the 3 coz i heard good rumor that lenova brand is best from the 3..
but incase of compaq its from HP i dont like the service of HP in the philippines kinda slow and they always busy.. and acer ive heard bout bat service and overheating but the specs of acer are overwhelming that im tempted to buy acer...
it comes down to decision alright still thinking which to buy..

go for Acer kung yan 3 lang talaga final choices mo. specs are better overall. konti lang naman ang processor speed advantage ng Compaq model - di mo na mapapansin yung difference.

While I plan to upgrade/repair my current pc, my wife's pretty insistent I replace it with a laptop. She wanted to buy an $850 Toshiba with an ATI HD 4500 graphics. I said no thanks.
On the other hand, we went to Best Buy earlier and they were selling an ASUS G51 for $1k. If I have to go with a laptop, the ASUS G51 seems good enough for me short of going with a more expensive laptop that has two SLI'd GTX 260M's. It also costs just a bit more than the current Toshiba I have now:

I can see that the choices are narrowed down to Windows PC (laptops) only.
As an Apple user, I strongly recommend a Macbook or if budget permits, a MBP. With bootcamp, you can install, run, and use any MS application. You can enjoy two great platforms in one machine.
By the way, all 3 laptops you listed are a good buy.

I concur...go for Acer. 4Gb Ram is nice to have for your intended use, kahit 2.13Ghz lang yung processor, you wouldnt notice it.
planning to keep it for 15yrs just done 10,000 km already replaced the transfer case fluid w/...
