If she is really passionate to initiate a social overhaul, then she should lobby it and see if she can do it on her own. But lobbying it by starting with derogatory, disparaging statements that she HATES her own country just because of the culture? This will definitely not gain any supporters! I, for one, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT AGREE WITH HER. PERIOD!!
Ok granted... kaw ang tatanungin what will you do?

If you see this nonsense things happening around... lobbying it? how?

    just asking. peace!!!

kasi people always react on the neagtive thing not on the positive things like a knee-jerk observation.

    Example:

If 10 people you didn't know were to walk through that door, most of you would describe those people by whats negative about them. He's fat. He's balding. Oh, the short one, Oh, the skinny girl. Ahhhh, 'yung pango. Etc.

Get the point? It's always the negative we focus on and not the positive. You'll definitely experiences this in the corporate world. You do a hundred good things and one mistakes-guess what? Chances are, your attention will be called on that one mistake.

Kaya siguro sinabi nya She hate philippines para makuha ang attention natin kung sinabi ba nya na problems in the philippines papansinin natin, dba malamang hindi like sa manila bulletin may nagsulat about bad things sa culture natin but yung title pinaganda nya at hindi striking on negative side tingin nyo ba babasahin natin mukhang hindi dba kasi hindi interesting.

just mu humble opinion kung ayaw nyo ok lang. hehehehe

First of all, don't make excuses for her. You don't really know her and I don't even know why you could even agree that it is ok to hate your own country when you know very well why things are happening around. If you grew up from another country, I would probably understand why you would hate the Philippines but not when you are born and raised in the country. Using HATE to describe your discontent of the country, in my opinion, shouldn't be used lightly especially when you have intentions of publishing your writing, may it be over the internet or printed medium.

Secondly, Napakaraming resources to do such social change if you really put your time. I even suggested joining those social-awareness groups and not just sit and complain if she is really overzealous about social overhaul OR suggest programs from the government, use the media to dissiminate information, suggest in the congress to make a law to include a class in our schools about social change, or seek help from the bishops of the Philippines to put time during masses to talk about social change. I can go on and on and on. But then again, it is not my job to do it and it is not my main concern and I AM NOT THE ONE WHO HATES THE PHILIPPINES. Now since she is the one who has problems about how things are working, then let her do the things I suggested so she can stop HATING THE PHILIPPINES.

Pointless to continue on this issue. Last post ko na on this thread. THanks!

I don't hate the Philippines but I'm disgusted with the society and government that we have. In this country, crime usually pays. A lot of people say that they are disgusted with the corruption, and yet, pag binyag ng anak nila or wedding nila ang kinukuha nilang sponsors mga corrupt na mayors, congressmen, senators, BIR/Customs officials, etc. Magaling ang Pinoy as an individual but as a society, napakabulok.

If the people really want to improve Philippine society, they should tell their friends or relatives working in the government na hwag silang mangurakot, hindi yung didikit pa sila para maambunan ng kinurakot na yaman. O kaya send an email to the Ombudsman. Me website din naman yan eh.

At kung talagang bulok ang kultura na kinagisnan, we have every right to hate it.

    Clavel699,

I didn't want to become a member of Tsikot to look for enemies nor find people to project any anger or disappointments like what you are probably doing. You come so strongly on your words that can be misconstrued as sarcastic comment and of which I don't really appreciate.

Sorry Clavel699 if siguro nahirapan akong i-relate yung situation because I have lived in the States for so long now but I have been visiting the Philippines every year. You even insinuate na "AMININ" because you probably thought that I put my location as BOSTON when I'm not. Well, FYI maski tawagan mo ako ngayon dito sa bahay sa Boston to talk to me, you can call me collect at ako pa sasagot sa bayad mo. I am off today from work to prove you wrong about your paranoid thoughts.

I don't think that it is so hard to do what I suggested if you are zealot about social change. I am just a little confused which side are you on. One time, you are pro-change by being infavor of pointing out the social problems we have, then on your next post, you said:" be realistic on the forms of actions?" Who are you then? The one who hopes there is a change or the one who just dismisses hope from the start? Where do you stand then?

The reason na umalis ako ng Pilipinas is exactly the same reason most filipinos left the country BUT NEVER WILL I EVER HATE THE COUNTRY. Ganon na talaga ang Pilipinas eh. There is no overnight cure for the disease that is creeping through the entire country. That's why I said na pointless to discuss because there isn't any square answer for the problem.

Knowing all these problems facing the country is only HALF THE TRUTH, because the OTHER HALF OF THE TRUTH is that most filipinos refuse to change. The second half is making it more difficult for the country to move on.

Ang mga politico sa atin do not have credibility coz puro magnanakaw.

I think what she did on was own her way of solving the problem by opening the eyes of people to the status of our country, forget her bitchy attitude. Lets be realistic here what can WE do as citizens to improve our country? Pay our taxes? (only to sucked up dry by greedy gov't officials) Obey traffic rules and regulations? (If the same people who enforces them, BREAKS them) Go to a government official and cite your concerns? (Unless your a celebrity, or filthy rich GOODLUCK!).

The reason for all the hate against governement officials/employees is they what they do directly affects us all. We pay our taxes, corrupt government officials puts it in their pockets and when all the resources runs out they increase the VAT and add more taxes to get more money in and poor Juan Dela Cruz sufferes because prices of basic goods increase as well as gasoline prices (kahit bumaba na sa world market). Its a domino effect. We don't need new taxes, what we need are honest government officials.

I agree with cyberdoc that we have to do our part in improving our country. But we as individuals can only do so much.

For example, We have all the natural resources and tourist destinations to become a tourist hotspot, even more than Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia (any of you ever visited Siargao, Malapascua, Bohol, Mindoro, Palawan?), problem is tourists are wary of goin here because of the unstable government and peace and order situation.

Want another example? Remember the killer typhoon last December that killed thousands of our countrymen? Its a result of all the illegal logging and deforestation... We also have laws for that, the problem is that the same people assigned to protect our forest turn a blind eye on those illegal loggers. If not for the media and the tragedy, the gov't won't do anything about it.

Here's another example. Imaging travelling at edsa in rush hour, and there's a long line of cars ahead of you, the reason? A bus cuts in from the left lane and blocks the path of the path on the right lane and you see an MMDA official standing there talking with a fellow MMDA. What the?!! Isn't it that there is a law regarding the Yellow lane for buses? And another thread which theveed started regarding traffic in schools caused by double parked cars. Isn't that illegal? Why can't the police implement the laws? If our local law enforcement simply implements all the laws then we could drastically improve our traffic situation.

I can cite more examples but I hope you get the picture.

You see, government officials have a BIG responsibility.
