    For the Wii.

Anyone have any views/recommendations? I think the controllers are similar so it all boils down to the song tracks.

    Thanks!

Well, I don't own any of the other 2 consoles (XBox 360 and PS3) so its really just the Wii. Plus, I think the Wii has SD card slots for storage.

    Rock Band. It has everything

Plus, Rockband creators claim you can actually learn to play real drums when playing at expert level as mentioned in this article.
You can take a person that’s playing on the expert levels in Rock Band on the drums and put them on a real drum set, and they can play the drums. And I watched this happen with a Q&A staff of 25-30 people. Maybe 2 or 3 of those had experience of being drummers, but they’ve been playing the game for months now, and what we’ve got is 30 drummers in the Q&A department who are pounding away in the Hard and Expert settings. These people have learned the fundamentals of drums, and this isn’t abstracting fundamentals — you can put these people on a drum set and they have some basic skills now. As a payoff for playing a video game, that’s incredible! Rock Band is going to be out there training this wave of new young drummers, and that’s a really exciting aspect of the project for us.

If only I have space in my rented flat I'd like to buy one myself.

Are the controllers for Rock Band compatible with Guitar Hero? Somehow, I like the song selections of GH. But, Negus is right. The instrument controllers on Rock Band are better built.

The instruments of GHWT are compatible with Rock Band, but not the other way around.

Can the songs be obtained via Jack Sparrow or do you have to buy them on-line? How much? Is it true prices vary depending on the game console?

Got answers from the web. Songs can only be obtained via purchase. Your console must be registered online. Modded machines risk being turned into expensive paperweights.

PS3 can load 5 machines per songtrack purchase (good for group buys!), xbox 360 and wii only to one machine. The songs are machine specific. You cannot transfer/share songs to other machines, even via SD card.

    PS3 and XBox360

Price: $1.99 USD, £.99 UK, €1.49 EU (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) per track

    97.51 pesos per track

    Nintendo Wii

Price: $2.00 USD, (200 Wii Points) per track

    98.00 pesos per track

Songs are delayed for Wii by a few weeks...

There is a Internet Tax of 10% with every purchase...
