another reason why I don't get a phone sa telco kasi naka lock. I'd always pay cash for my phone for the discount pero my last phone purchase (Note 9 in 2018) Nag 1 yr 0% interest ako kasi same din daw as cash price. Phones are so expensive now

Check the Globe shop. You can sort according to Plan or Phone. The phone prices will depend on the Plan you're on.

I got my wife's iPhone on her plan as she is already on a high enough tier for it to make sense. Unlocking iPhones with Globe is also very simple. My Android phone I bought cash.

Most phones now are dual sims. Telcos only lock 1 of the sim slots.

Though true, they also limit the second sim as only good for calls and sms. The last i got from smart before, sim 1 is exclusive for smart then sim 2 you can use other networks but without data. I know globe does the same for sim 1 but not a hundred percent sure with sim 2. Lucky you if they suddenly just give you an openline unit (they probably don't know when it's released to customers). Happened to me several times as well.

Never knew about this. Pati ba Apple kaya ni Globe or Smart i-restrict ang data ng sim 2?

Good question. Not familiar if it's the same across different operating systems or brands. My experience is limited to Android. We have 2 smart plans. So far our Samsung S22 ultra from them has that no data for sim 2 when using globe then we also got a Note 20 ultra before from them but luckily it's openline for both sims. Previous recent older models we got also had the same setup.

    yespo.
we got a samsung from the smart outlet, as part of the deal.
    it was sim-locked.
my smart sim in position 1 was working perfectly.
my gomo's data apps weren't functioning, in position 2.
had to revert back to the older, non-sim-locked smart phone.

after a one year, is it effective to have it sim-unlocked? where?

Doc, i believe you can ask smart to have it unlocked after the 2 year lock in period when you avail their retention program.

BAYAN MUNA HITS GLOBE FOR ADDITIONAL FEES

Bayan Muna chairman Neri Colmenares today hit Globe Telecom for adding another fee for its post paid subscribers even if Filipinos are still reeling from high prices of goods and services.

"Sumosobra naman na ata ang pagkaganid sa tubo ng Globe Telecom maski hirap na hirap na ang mga Pilipino sa taas ng bilihin ngayon. Di pa ba sapat ang kinita nilang P175 bilyon noong 2022?" asked the former Bayan Muna solon.

"Why is it that when there are disruptions in Globe's signal or services, for days at times, wala man lang bawas sa monthly fee ng subscribers but now they are asking automatic P50 for late payment? They have not even given the refund to consumers when they overcharged their texting fees years back," added the consumer advocate.

“Bayan Muna filed a petition in the Supreme Court against Globe and Smart for overcharging us in the text messages we send and to refund at least Php 18 Billion which could give thousands of pesos worth of load for each of us subscribers and we urge the Supreme Court to decide the case," he added.

"I think that Globe should be considerate to their subscribers and scrap this fee. Ayusin din nila ang serbisyo nila kesa puro kita at tubo ang inuuna," concluded Colmenares

The former Bayan Muna solon issued the statement when many Globe subsribers came to him complaining of Globe's text saying:

Experience real-time posting of payment via the GlobeOne app. To get started, click on globeone.onelink.me/ej7I/G1SMS and choose the account you would like to pay for.

Starting December 1, 2023, a P50 fee will be charged to your account for payments made after your due date. We encourage you to pay on time to keep your services active.###

Does anyone have an idea how much is Apple Watch plan add-on with Globe Telecom? ... Does Smart also have Apple Watch plan? ...

Telco: Lower upfront cost, locked phone, potentially more expensive overall.

Credit Card (0% interest): Flexible, potentially lower monthly cost, requires discipline to avoid interest charges.

Choose telco for low upfront cost, credit card for flexibility and potentially lower total cost.

Globe vs Smart Plan is all about choosing the best mobile network based on coverage, speed, and budget.
Both offer good packages, but it depends on your usage and location needs.
You can also check globe apn prepaid sim for easy setup details.
