"97% of users don't use 1GB/day or 3GB/month" - Ibig sabihin 97% ng subscribers nila ay naloko lang nila. Nagsubscribe pa sa HSDPA+ e hindi naman pala nagagamit to the fullest. Might as well use 3G.

Globe was very stupid to not do proper research before making this claim. It is easy to deduce that these mobile users will start using the connection at home also. I mean c'mon, LTE unlimited on a mobile device? Eh di gagamitin ko na rin sa bahay diba?

Again, nothing wrong with the FUP, but everything wrong with Globe's initial claim and then backtracking after realizing the truth about consumer behaviour.

Globe's market research team was caught flat footed on this one.

FUP is wrong... why offer "unlimited" when in fact it will be limited? its like offering a buffet eat-all-you can where the food will be given in limited amount or scooped.. and worst is they will reduce your speed to 2G?? 3G is more acceptable but 2G really? 2G its next to unusable speed

Exactly. Parang you pay for eat all you can pero after you've consumed a certain portion, hindi na pwede and you can only eat the cheaper substitutes. Tapos sabihin sayo, fair use policy para yung iba may chance makakain pa.

    Wag nalang tawaging unlimited.

Correct me if I'm wrong but data speed is affected not by bandwidth hog as the call it. But rather by over subscription in a particular area/tower.

Globe broadband also has cap. had it disconnected na. for the same monthly, now using skybroadband but 1.5X times faster assuming maximum "theoretical" speed

May cap ang globe dsl users, but not as bad as the mobile fup. Its 3gb a day for 1mbps, 5gb a day for 2mbps, 7gb a day for 3mbps. If u reach the cap, bandwidth / 2.

I agree, mali talag kasi "unli" eh tapos may cap pala. Mali ang market research nila so dapat magkaroon muna nang consensus between those who availed and Globe/Smart. May contract yan eh. Kung hindi kaya unli, bawasan din dapat singil. Yun ang fair.

Yep that's correct. The common term used when speed is throttled down is due to "congestion" to a certain tower. The thing with mobile internet is there is always this "bandwidth" issue pag marami kang ka-share sa area/location. Not sure if Globe uses the same system but from my previous work, you can be using more than your alloted data allowance and still have fast speeds if you are on a location na wala kang masyadong ka-share. Problem sa Philippines is everyone is using it since we are a mobile/smartphone-using country and internet-user to the max pa. Tapos yung mga ibang mobile network for sure share the same LTE towers with Globe so talagang patay na. Mahaba-habang problema to mga ka-tsikot I guarantee you.

nope, they are not sharing resources. kinda stupid on globe's end to push data users on the GSM network. why clog 2G with data when it can be effectively used for voice.
