I'm quite surprised that nobody seems to be talking about this here so I thought I'd start one.

To the uninitiated, Globe recently updated their FUP for most of their unlimited data plans in that, you only have 1GB a day or 3GB a month to play with at LTE or HSDPA+ speeds. Once you hit the limit, your connection gets throttled down to "2G speed".

I'm sure a lot will agree that their "2G speed" is useless. So the "unlimited" tag is both misleading and a blatant lie.

Might as well call it "Globe's Fair Use Fallacy".

Here' the FUP: Fair Use Policy |Plans and Promos | Mobile Internet - globe.com.ph

And here's Globe's infographic justifying the FUP, which I find ridiculous:

Pure BS. Bakit kelangan i-cap ang connection. Tsaka hindi yan fair use policy, kasi it is unfair!

Tsaka what if kelangan ko mag-donwload ng isang 2GB video na legal, eh di after ng 1GB, gapang na ang connection. Tapos may natitira ka pang 1GB allowance for the whole month. What if naubos mo na in just 3 days yun 3GB, for the next 27 o 28 days eh gapang na connection mo? Di naman pwede yun. Di naman lahat ng tao may DSL sa bahay.

Kapal mg mukha ng globe. You paid for that speed kaya di dapat i cap. Mali ingerpretation nila. Sa ibang bansa you pay for 1. Speed and 2. Data.

Badtrip naman un. Dati diba 1gb per day ang data cap nila? Nanghinayang pa kami dati kasi sa smart meron din pero for whole month naman. Hindi ko matandaan kung 4gb ba un. Pag naubos ko naman throttle down to 3g kaya ok lang.

If you're an active YouTube user and/or uploader and if you use your e-mail to transmit work (as I do), 3GB per month at full speed is insufficient. Per article, I have to transmit about 100mb worth of pictures. And graphics drafts (if layered) are around 50mb each. And then there's YouTube, which, if you're surfing on a weekend, can easily pass 2-3 GB in one day.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    Off topic :

Sa smart 1.5gb daw every month ang cap, pero more than 1 year na ko lagi over dyan sa cap pero di ako nakaka experience ng slow down, pag madaling araw pa nga umaabot 7mpbs yung non-LTE phone ko.
