ref electricity cost for new models is roughly around 750 to 1200 pesos per month depende sa laki ng typical ref (not the two door). IMHO, unplugging it will consume more electricity comapred to just leaving it plug. kasi sa initial start up mo yung nabuild up na heat eh matagal din niya papalamigin kaya balewala at mas malakas pa.
ako i have 6cu.ft. no frost ref, and it it around 800 pesos of my bill. newer models have inverter system and some have higher Energy efficiency so almost negligible magtipid sa ref. more likely sa airconditioning equipment ka and other appliance ka magtipid.
ngayon ang ******* rig ko is laptop na alng and i am enjoying 18-24 hours of aircon a day for only 5.5k a month. para kay baby ko. hehehehe.
Sir if you have an AC, Ref, motors and/or other heating devices you may consider selling it and upgrade to newer and higher efficiency systems.
imho, in one of the buildings i manage, previously we have 20HP motor for an AHU but when we upgraded the blower wheel assembly with lighter material and newer design we reduced the consumption of this particular AC equipment into technically half, having a payback period of more or less a year.
this are mechanical intervention, wala pang electronic and electrical intervention,.
ang pinaka da bes to save is electricity is.......IPA TAMPER ANG METRO para bumagal ang ikot :D
Of course it will work. Unplugging the ref from 10pm to 6am can save you some, and di naman nasisira yung goods kung frozen na. Try it! Mas n
Maganda yan kung may timer.
^
Good idea sir. Pero sure ka na hindi masisira? okay lang cguro 2 or 3hrs at most but 8hrs? parang sobrang tagal naman sir.
I've put a timer on my ref to turn it off at 1am and turn on at 5am. I don't think it is safe to keep it off longer because of bacterial growth in food items.
Also, we have a hot water dispenser that we only use every morning (coffee). We switch it off the rest of the day.

Sir, what kind of timer do you put on your ref? maybe i should get one na din. naka on kasi 24hrs ang ref namin.
Ngwyon ko lang napansin yun rice cooker namin ay 700watts power consumption, plus yun water heater sa shower at water dispenser 700 watts din. mas makakatipid ba pag magpakulo na lang tubig sa takore pampaligo?

when it comes to ref. mag inverter ka nalang....
pag lumamig na nasa 70w lang ang consumption...
