    Best electricity saving device:

Or unplug your devices when not in use.

LOL! The same power saving device that consumes more power when the light is OFF than when its ON as seen on their own demo setup's amp-meter.

nagwowonder din ako kung effective ba yung mga yun. pero wierd kasi ang concept. you plug it in your socket, a light turns on and it will supposedly lessen your consumption. ano ba explanation sa concept ng mga plug in electricity saving devices na yan? may kakilala ako who swears that it works. duh.

Depende sa device at dapat naiintindihan mo how it works to believe it.. Meron dati yung kinakabit sa motorized appliances that help in correcting the phase (in or outphase) para hindi wasted into heat ang off-phase energy..operated by TRIAC power transistor and phase preamplifier..

Meron pa nyan yun kinakabit sa earth ground parang ballast pero wala din silbe..Mostly yun bnebenta ngayon energy saving device decoration lang. Better spend/invest on solar power or install earth ground sa home wiring to protect devices from static..

Ang mga "power-saving devices" ay typically just capacitors to correct the power factor, especially if you have a lot of inductive loads like motors et al.... Maliit lang ang mga ito sa bahay natin, kaya hindi ganoong ka-effective....

Iyong power meters natin IS calibrated to measure REAL POWER ONLY. NOT the apparrent power. So ang mga power factor correcting devices will not work. Those demos mislead us with apparent power. Their demo typically use inducrive loads. motors and florescent lamps.

The power meters that we use has an accuracy of 2.5% at +/- 60 degrees.

If we use power factor correcting devices, we are helping meralco not us. kasi they have to invest less on power factor correcting devices - capacitor.

Guys buhayin ko lang ang thread sandali. Which do you think consumes less electricity, a non inverter 1hp window type or a 2hp inverter split type? Assuming airon usage is around 10 hours per day.

Dapat same 2hp ang comparison, kung 1hp need mo kasi i on ng matagal para lumamig ang room.

I had a 1hp window type aircon then switched to 1.5hp inverter type. Saved us about 900 to 1k/ month.

I used to own a regular red. When I switched to inverter ref, my Meralco bill was halved. Savings due to use of inverter motors are significant when using such appliances during most of the day.

Sorry for not elaborating. I have both kasi. Sa masters bedroom i have a 2hp pana inverter and in a smaller room 1hp window type. Was wondering kung ano ang mas matipid. Dun ako matutulog kung saan mas matipid hehe.

first night, dun ka matulog sa isang room (1hp). record the kwhr reading before and after the sleeping time na sabi mo nga eh 10hours. the next evening, dun ka naman sleep sa other room (2hp). record na naman...
eh di malalaman na natin kung sino talaga sa dalawa ang mas matipid.

For electronic enthusiasts, go to alexan sa sales st. Buy the refmate for refrigerators, a ac/fan timer to shift between ac and fan. For transistor ignition - HEISS, etc. A circuit from NASA could save 10% consumption on appliances with compressors, e.g., refs and ac.
