Acer Aspire One with 9inch screen = 1.5gb max
Acer Aspire One with 10inch screen = 2gb max (i think)

I'm currently using the Acer Aspire One with the 11.6" screen. So will it accomodate more RAM (2GB at least)?

    Awesome! Thanks!

    Mukhang pumapatak sa 1500 presyo ng 2GB DDR2-SDRAM PC2-6400 (399 MHz) - [DDR2-800]...

Depends on the retailer. Also depends on the netbook's design. If you can access/open the hatch to install the memory module without tearing one of those "warranty stickers"...

mine is a Redfox Wizbook 1020i. 10.2 LCD, 80gb hdd, 2gb memory. it's just really good for net surfing and docs. tried playing DOTA on it and it works until a major clash (graphic settings are at minimum) occurs then it restarts. i believe this is coz of the shared memory for the video. anyway, don't buy a netbook if you intend to use it for online gaming haha

Meron, pero I think Windows XP will only recognize 2GB of RAM. As for choppy videos, ang ASUS eee PC ay adjustable ang processor speed niya called Super Hybrid Engine, I'm sure meron din ang mga Aspire 1, try mo Max Performance Mode pero siyempre at the expense of battery life. Been watching movies/tv series sa HULU.com (full Screen) sa Power Saving Mode eh medyo choppy but if I switch to High and Super Performance mode ay very smooth naman ang playback.

The 2gb memory limit is the design of the Atom itself. Other netbooks are limited to below 2gb because the onboard ram cannot be disabled like the Acer Aspire One with 9inch screen. Install 2gb ram and it will not boot.

nope... the DELL unit cannot upgrade it's memory beyond the original 1gb.

As for movies, you can try using a different software like Media Player Classic and limiting yourself to movies encoded in DVD quality. Avoid stuff in 720i and 1080i quality because the video chipset will not handle it.

Yup, Unfortunately you'll get a hit by a big "loss" in price when you sell it.

Lenovo S10-2 is currently very popular because prices have lowered to 21K and styling is very good for a netbook. It's also available with 6 cell battery which should give it around 5 hours of battery time.

I am using a MSi Wind U100+ ... memory is already 2gb, 250gb HDD with 6 cell battery. I have already upgraded it with a 500gb HDD and 9 cell battery for longer battery time.
