what would the average professional use the laptop for that a desktop cannot perform kaya? Kasi sometimes honestly yes maganda nga ang laptop kasi better screen but i see a lot on it who will only make their word doc and other basic office stuff plus check e mail and the net. Diba mas maganda in the future if desktops are docking stations and handheld na ang what laptops are at the moment for your average biz person? is that what smartphones are trying to do kaya? of course to make presentations one or two laptops would be necessary sa office for portability which a desktop really cant achieve?
just wondering kasi parang underused ibang laptops at some biznesses

smartfones are trying and have overcome the advantages of having a PDA. Most smartfones today have PDA type functions and some more features. Still a negative thing about smartfones acting like PDAs is the smaller screen and the general lack of touchscreen functionality (except for certain smartfone models).
As for using a laptop instead of a desktop unit in the office, it depends on the requirements of the company. Some companies do not have a fixed table for their employees so ability to setup on any table/workspace is a priority. Others require their employees to work in different locations around the city. Others just prefer the idea that the entire computer can be secured by placing it in a big locked safe along with all the sensitive data inside it. And other companies see the savings in power and table space as a big plus to using laptops instead of desktop units.

I like Smartphones simply because of their ala-PDA function and I tend to use all that features specially that I have a 2GB SD card in it. 1 amazing apps that I installed is to track my fuel consumption and car mileage. There's also an apps that my wife has in her smartphone is a list of shopping items, and tracking how much and where it was bought. hehehe
My smartphone is not Symbian based (it is a WM 5.0), and there are tons of apps that are compatible with it.
What I like most on my smartphone is the ability to play mp3 and video files-strong feature on multimedia.
OT: Ghosthunter how was the response of your N80 when using it?

Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
