    Alin ba ang mas popular?

DVD+R yung blank na nabili ko. Gumana naman sa DVD player dito.

-R is generally more compatible than +R. +R is an "unofficial" standard that has a few more features that you probably won't use. Sa ngayon, halos completely interchangeable naman yang mga yan except for really old players/writers.

pag +R you can add data files after initial burning, given the fact that you didn't fill the DVD up on initial burning. oh yah, hindi nababasa ng -R DVD roms ang +R DVD roms.

pwede rin sa -R ang multisession burning, nasa feature na yan ng burner or software.

dual layer or DVD9 means the disc can hold around 9GB of data, while single layer or DVD5 can hold around 5GB.

huwaw!!! san ka nakakita nyan? rewritable na dvd10 disc! been looking for one dito sa pinas for years. sa US meron na silang DVD18 dual sided dual layer discs pero kung may makukunan dito ng dvd10 disc ok nako.

For more info on dvd's check http://www.videohelp.com/dvd

mahal pa talaga dito sa pinas dl-dvds. if you can, stick with brands like tdk, imation, etc. these are mid-priced brands that will give the least headaches pagdating sa durability at compatibility. got a 20 disc spindle of a no name dl-dvd from HK last year. 5 of the discs were instant coasters while around 10 discs failed after successive playback. no such problem with imations.

I see. hehe. thanks boybi. then ano ang pinagkaiba ng +R sa -R? purely format?

sir metatron , nothing beats the durability of pricey DVDs. well, if you really want to archive data, then the least you want to happen is loose them through some crappy DVD.

some say that +R is compatible with more stand alone players, hence, it's more suitable for burning movies.

-R is older than +R... license lang yan ng gumawa (AFAIK, dalawang manufacturers na pasikatan, similar to what's happening to Sony and Toshiba ngaun). Most writers naman ngaun eh compatible na ung dalawa..

Plus, add'l info, indeed, price is somewhat relative to length of storage capacity (kung gaano katagal bago dumating ung point na hindi na mabasa ng DVD players or DVD-ROMs ung media), use generics if the data you'll be burning on it won't be needed after a month or so...
