Except for centralizing the 5V supply with backup power, nothing much has changed. I did had connection issues before when I was still using a D-Link wireless router (IP cams would randomly go offline for no apparent reason).
Getting rid of the D-Link for a TP-Link solved the WiFi connection issues.

*woohoo,
I definitely have the G1. The G2 wasn't available back then when I began this project. But at around twice the price of the G1, even if it's available, I don't think I'd use it.
*mazzipino,
Each camera costs P3,800. All you'll need is a WiFi network and a desktop/laptop running the Ultraview software (comes free with every IP cam). The software allows you to view all cameras in one program and also offers basic DVR functionality. Optionally, the cameras are also viewable individually through a browser, but you can't record from it.
Since you'd likely have broadband Internet, you can setup your router (port-forwarding) so that you can use Ultraview on a laptop to view all cameras wherever there's Internet access (ie. office, abroad, neighbor's house, laptop+3G phone, etc.)Last edited by oj88; October 23rd, 2009 at 01:53 PM.

What model name are your cams? How's the quality?
Do you know if I can use any of these http://expose.ph/ViewProduct.php?&Cat=20 in the same way via WiFi?
Cheers

Here it is: (ENVCWI-G1)
http://www.cdrking.com/local/product...423624-2817002
I've just bought one. Can't wait 'til I get home!
We tried it at the office, just to see if it's not a dud (for the 7-day replacement warranty). I chose this one over the cheaper (another brand) model worth Php3,200+ because on the box, it says it supports WEP, WPA, WPA2 while the cheaper one supports only WEP. Suffice it to say my home router doesn't use WEP. ;)

apologies for reviving an old thread.
currently in the process of installing new CCTV system in our office. I've been getting different recommendations on the wire to use. Some are recommending CAT6, while others are recommending RG - Siamese cable. Which one is better?

i'm thinking of having a cctv system installed at home when this plague from china subsides. nothing fancy but definitely something reliable. maybe 3-4 cameras will suffice. the problem is, i don't where to start hehe
any tips?
