If I wanted to try BTC back then, the most I can afford to lose was 10k, so 1M lang yan ngayon, 3M at the peak.
There was an ETH which started last 2015.
It was $1 at that time.
But after a year, it reached 10$ then climbed to $100.

Yeah, the point is, would I invest 1M in crypto back then? This is all hind sight. Do you think anyone who made double or triple their investment wouldn't cash out? I don't think there are people who bought BTC at $2 and still holding now [emoji848]. Nothing personal bro but we all know what the VUL peeps with their 10% projections sales pitch say, " past performance.is not a guarantee.od future performance" [emoji16][emoji3577]

If you are talking about bulk of 1M, syempre its unwise to invest right away.
But if you have spare 5k/month or 10k/month, will it hurt if you do cost averaging per month in crypto than in stocks?
In stocks, napakaliit ng return every year, compare to crypto.
In a year, you will be surprised that your 5k or 10k is a 60k or 120k investment na pala.

There are also crypto out there which will give you 5%/year interest (you will be 5% number of coins in return) if you will keep your wallet and won't withdraw it.
This is what they call staking and the additional coins you earn is on top of the price fluctuation.

So rather than keeping 5k or 10k per month in bank, I rather keep it in crypto doing cost averaging.
Syempre knowledge on the specific investment is still needed to alleviate the risk.
It's not for all, all investment has risk.

At the time kasi, less than a $100 lang worth so if you will not need the money, better keep it and ride the trend.
If mag down man, no regrets since malaki pa rin gain.
Unless if you needed the cash na for some real purchase purpose.

Bitcoin is straddling the US$30k at the moment.

Considering that it was US$16k just late November, whatever btc you bought then would be 87.5% up today; something to think about as the next halving cycle is about a year from now.

This is a huge setback for Bitcoin, since Binance has the highest trading volume of any crypto exchange in the world. However, I believe Bitcoin can recover from this in the long run.

The next halving is just a few months away. It'll probably be above $50k by then, particularly since the bulls are back.

US SEC approves bitcoin ETFs in watershed for crypto market

WASHINGTON/NEW YORK, Jan 10 (Reuters) - The U.S. securities regulator on Wednesday approved the first U.S.-listed exchange traded funds (ETFs) to track bitcoin, in a watershed for the world's largest cryptocurrency and the broader crypto industry.

The Securities and Exchange Commission said it approved 11 applications, including from BlackRock (BLK.N), Ark Investments/21Shares (ABTC.S), Fidelity, Invesco (IVZ.N) and VanEck, despite warnings from some officials and investor advocates that the products carried risks.

Most of the products are expected to begin trading Thursday, issuers said, kicking off a fierce competition for market share.

What does the above mean? Here's a follow up article:

Sounds like this will provide a platform to regulate cryptos.

BTC has been on a tear the past few weeks, thanks to bitcoin ETF's finally being legit on Wall Street. Other cryptocurrencies have also been surging along with it (as is usually the case).

Now is arguably the wrong time to buy bitcoin since the valuations are on the way up to a new ATH (all time high). But those who did buy mid-2023 more than doubled their investment. Those that bought in 2022 (and held on to their btc) are up nearly 400%.

My hunch is that there will be a selling frenzy once the price hits $70k but that btc will eventually rise further until the halving event in April.

It will be very interesting to see what happens after that.

Waiting game lang talaga best play dito.
Sa stock market, bihira ka lang maka waiting game dun.
Need mo talaga sabayan index by buying index stocks to make money.
