So far I have tried both and it seems Yahoo Widgets seems to be less resource hungry. Note, the machine I tested it on has an Intel Atom 1.6ghz CPU and 1.5gigs of ram.

So far my experience with the yahoo widgets seems to be more positive than with the google gadgets (roughly using the same type of apps). My Acer Aspire One installed with widgets seems to be running well enough without any percieved slow down.

I use the dock and have nearly all of them there. And the dock is set to retract into the side of the screen, similar to how MS Office can be set to hide away from view.

widgets eats 512 if i remember correctly
malakas din siya unless you have a beast machine..

hirap fx5600 ko dati to multitask pag naka on widgets. pagnaka on yun laggers gameplay ko sa ragna that time at nababa ng todo fps ko pero continues ang laro, fps lang talaga bumaba.. i know mababa spec ng sakin dati pero it was enough narin to play damn games with nice resolutions at details
