Parang mali ata yang product na yan sa thread title... I would say the best bang for the buck GPU's are still the Radeon 4600 and 4700 series or kung maka Nvidia ka the 9600GT... May ibubuga pa even with the latest game at just P3000++ - P4000++

$600 for an HD 5970. Gee that's the same price I paid for 2 Voodoo2's in 1998. I wonder what the equivalent of 1998's $600 would be today?
Still, $600? *sigh* I guess that's one advantage of being single. I could build a god-pc anytime I want.
Nah. I like being on a short leash.

For those with newer ATI cards. I'm just wondering how much AA AF do you use?
I'm guessing the drivers for my HD 5770 isn't mature yet since I can't get beyond 4xAA without graphical artifacts appearing. If you look at the tail shadow of the 747, you could see artifacts shaped like a "ll". This wasn't present with my X800XL or 8600GT.
The only time the artifacts disappear is if I leave AA at either 4x with FSX or 2x with most other games. I mean even 2xAA looks great. But, I'd like to push it to 4x/8x all the time.

Ati 57XXX series just dropped prices yesterday.
the 5750 go as low as 6,600. The 5770 * 7,740 pesos from 8,200
natawa ako sa isang seller on his used 5770, he had to drop his price from 7,800 to 7,600. just a hundred forty pesos cheaper. hehe...

Here, newegg.com haven't dropped prices yet on the 5770. The 5850 minimum price has gone up by another $15 to $315. The 5870 has gone up by another $30 to $430. They're freaking nuts!
Just the same. As a heavy OpenGL user, you need to avoid ATI like it's got herpes or something.

while waiting for gtx 3xxx, I would have gone for 5750 kung alam ko lang matakaw parin ang 4850 ko. lol
with my 9600gt, On Idle, I got a 3:13 secs per meter cycle on a 30% overclocked processor. now just 2:17 secs per meter cycle on a stock speed processor. =\
I'm hoping I can downclock the gpu manualy. and set it to stock or oc speed only when gaming.
if anyone can suggest how to save more power aside from turning it off, it would be great.

down to 500mhz only. the idle speed of the card. I'm hoping I could downclock it further. same with ati tray tools and ati tool does not run on my windows 7 32bit. weird, I was certain it was running back on my x1650.
on my 9600gt. was able to downclock it to 300mhz, even the mem to 350, while shader * 600. I added a profile to load low speed at start up while oc speed while gaming at back to low speed on game exit. as I understand downclocking started at gts 250 green and gtx260. so the 96060gt had to be manualy done by software.
Update: Riva tuner works fine now... 325mhz-gpu, 500mhz-mem. temperature drop, so as the fan speed from avg of 20% to 14%. measuring power consumption a little later.Last edited by rion; December 22nd, 2009 at 12:34 PM.
