The 3 carriers are heavily subsidizing the units just to get users to commit their cashflow for the next 2 years. If you can, why not get a postpaid plan and have one of the carriers pay for your unit? Imagine mo in one promo, XDA 2 for 1,800 monthly for 2 years from Globe.
Ganito na rin sa Japan and US...almost everyone gets their unit with their plans.
Try the Samsung E-600, Clamshell , small, with camera, good resolution, very light, P 14,000 brand new. Got my wifey one, she's very satisfied after disposing of her p 800.
I'm using a Nokia 3200... currently priced at around P9,000 at Greenhills.
has most of the features most people are looking for in a celfone these days:
-tri-band (I went to europe for almost a month and also stopped over at hong kong, no problems).
-color display
-polyphonic ring tunes (true tunes also if you can convert wav/mp3 files to its native format)
-digital camera (a bit limited but functional)
-customizable case
-flashlight
-infrared connection
-gprs capable
-very loud speaker
-fm radio
-voice recorder (you can record your own ring tunes)
-battery is good for 3 days (with vibrate on and some voice calls)
downsides:
-weird keypad (but I got used to it in a couple of weeks)
-limited memory (1 meg, not expandable)
-can not take video clips
-screen display quality is inferior as compared to N6230.

i agree... the keypad is just weird, but i also got used to it na...
downside: 1 meg of memory (and no expandable memory option) pero already good for a simple lifestyle...
I'd sacrifice the camera if I could have the phone half as thin. Any suggestions?
Akala ko mga 6 months ago lumabas daw isang cellphone galing China, thinest cellphone in the world daw.
what i did was to get a t610 and have a custom leather case made, minus the belt attachment and medyo streamlines sya, so fits easily in my pants pocket.

why not get the K700i nalang? mas ok ang features kesa sa T630.

San ba yung South Mall? Pangalan ba ng store DGK?
Ano ang tips mo to buy a cellphone? The only thing I know is to check the serial number on the phone and match it with the box. Sabi sa kin kung yung cellphone sobrang mura, it's because they replaced the original battery with a cheaper one.
Bumili na rin ako ng phone. SE K500.
Kasing laki ng T610, I was hoping to get something much smaller. Pero mas magaan ito. It can play mp3 files and you can use it for your tones. Graphics is sharper than T610. It has 12 megs memory. I like the games included here, ganda ng 3D tennis game. Camera is much better than my old T610. Meron din to videoclip, very useful gamitin pag nakakita ako ng suntukan. Most important feature this has that T610 doesn't have is programmable shortcut keys. Pindot ako up, labas agad yung calculator. Pindot ako down, labas agad yung inbox.
Mas makapal yung top than bottom . Parang yung lumang Nokia phone. I feel like dudulas ito habang ng te-text ako. I can't get a good grip at it. Tsaka medyo hindi ako sanay magtext dito. Kasi hindi flat ang shape ng keys. I don't have skinny fingers kaya medyo weird sa kin. Walang bluetooth itong phone.
Another complain is, mukhang hindi ata durable to.
