Basically i'm planning to get a deep cycle battery to power some appliances at home, around 500-600 watts. i'm still not sold on going off-grid solar, so i'm thinking initially, i'll just get a battery charger i can plug into a wall outlet for battery charging.

This is what i have in mind:

Tama ba yung iniisip ko, or am i missing something?

i'm a little confused on how long the battery will last: a 40Ah battery with a 2-amp load should last ~20 hours, but that's at 12-volt DC right? Not sure if there are adjustments to be made since me inverter pa.

depending on the battery size, maybe a few hours.

best also to get pure sinewave inverters para pwede kahit small motors or electric fan.

hindi naman sir ^_^ Actually kukuha na kami soon, i'm just thinking about the switchover between Meralco to genset power. Parang ang mahal kasi ng UPS, then <10 minutes lang ang backup time -- gusto ko sana yung leeway for switching between Meralco to genset power to be around 10-15 minutes. Based on the UPS runtime calculators, i'd need an external battery pack on top of the UPS. i was wondering if the above setup could be more cost-effective.

The load is at 220V, 2.2A.

Di naman aabot ng 10min ang pag switch from meralco to genset. So baka pwede na ordinary UPS.
