Basic and Sturdy Smartphone: Maximum P10k

I'm looking for a smartphone that will be used for calls, text and viber. What's important is it will last at least 3 years problem free. I'll give the phone to my Mom and I prefer a Samsung since that's the brand of her tablet. The phone has to be at least 5 inches.

My choices are Samsung, Asus and Mi. Any recommendations? Thank you

I will always choose Samsung over Xiaomi...

Pero under ng Android One program yung A series ng Xiaomi...

A1 is now receiving Android Pie.
A2 will get Android Q

Samsung J? It was released with Marshmallow and upgraded to Nougat, Nougat was released in 2016!

Oh. All praises kasi mga tao sa Pocophone kaya I thought at par na sa Samsung ang Xiaomi brand. Though I do prefer Samsung. How about the J6? I want to stay within P10k kasi [emoji14]

Get the A72017. Got mine ditched in a water filth canal while alighting the car, had it washed with tap water and cleaned with alcohol and its working as if nothing happened. May lumabas lang na moisutre detected alarm then nawala narin after drying. The newer A7 are not worth the money as its back to micro USB and not IP67.

Poco is a good phone thanks to it's price...

Samsung, S or Note, A if budget is limited...

BUT the A series ng Xiaomi will get proper updates...

J6+ (2018) ng Samsung running Oreo out of the box, high chance it will get Pie next year, pero hanggang dun n lang sya.
