search iOS hackers and see if there is indeed a software unlock for iP4 and iP5. I used to follow pod2g and muscle nerd.

I have been using a hardware sim unlock for my softbank iP4 for quite sometime now without major problems.

Merun na sa net...around end of January 2013 siya narelease, sabi nila tha 6.1 IOS gave way for this opportunity of doing the factory unlock. Ang nagsabi rin sa akin ay customer service personnel ng SMART. May nakausap din akong celphone repair technician who confirmed the existence of the said program.

I'm confused ...this site said it should work: Apple - iPhone 5 - View countries with supported LTE networks.

And I had the sim replaced yesterday (smart) for an LTE version...

Postpaid plan ako na naka-unli data plan. But I got this plan nuong ip4s pa lang ang offer nila. Now i have an ip5 pero not tied up sa smart, i had the sim replaced with a nano sim (na supposedly ay LTE na).

I'll probably visit a manila-based smart customer service next time and see what can they do about it.

make sure you upgrade the os version to 6.1 and sa smart alam ko may separate plan pa for LTE.
