Taking the Creationist stance, God made man; this would suggest God created a chicken out of thin air.

Taking the scientific route..i think all life evolved from single cell organisms -- which have a simpler method of replication -- and then as life evolved, more complex types of "replication" sprung up.

i just don't see how life can survive as an egg without a system in place to make sure that egg grows to maturity.Who would fertilize it? Who would sit on it until it hatches? Who will defend it from becoming something else's dinner?

Don't get me wrong though; people tend to draw a line between Creationists and scientists....but for me the answer is both: God created Life through a process we try to explain through science ;)
