Much better if mapuno si Angat before the El Nino takes effect...

According to NWRB executive director Sevillo David, the dam at “normal operating level,” well beyond its minimum level of 180 meters.

He said that the rise in water level was a “big help” in preparing water reserves by the time the El Niño phenomenon would be in full swing.

“Magandang development iyan dahil po doon sa paghahanda natin doon sa posibleng pagpasok ng El Niño,” David added.

(This is a good devleopment because it can help us prepare for the possible drought brought by El Niño.)

David earlier said that he was still not comfortable with Angat Dam’s water level, even if it has exceeded its 180-meter rule curve.

He had said that the dam’s level should reach 210 to 212 meters by the end of the year to meet Metro Manila’s water needs during next year’s dry season.
Angat Dam level rises to 198 meters but still short of normal high threshold: NWRB – Filipino News

    Luzon dams release water

As for the Angat Dam, monsoon rains raised the water elevation to over the 200-meter level, only 10 meters away from its high water level of 210 meters.

Records from the Bulacan PDRRMO showed that water elevation of Angat Dam as of 8 a.m. yesterday was at 200.59 meters compared to the previous day’s level of 199.23 meters.

Angat dam is the main source of potable water for Metro Manila residents, while Ipo dam diverts water from the Angat and Ipo Rivers into the La Mesa reservoir and Balara filtration plant.

Must be still raining in the north since Angat's water level is still rising, though slower than before...

Parang sobrang kulang na talaga ang Angat for today's requirement kasi nung critical level and it rised to +10 meters, nag declare sila na no need to ration water till the end of the year. But in a weeks time, nag announce naman sila na rationing ulit, buti umulan din ulit. I think that even if this is full by December, hindi aabot ng May nasa critical level ulit ito.

IIRC, I came across an article which says that Kaliwa dam was already in the planning since the time of the old Marcos. At least now they started building it na pala, akala ko planning stage pa rin.

i don't know if dredging was carried out on the Angat Dam.
imagine the accumulated silt from the mountains over time.
the reference elevations from day one of operations are no longer the same at this point in time.
