i would also vouch for asterisk. IP-PABX ang style mo.
all you need is a decent server, an good internet connection palabas (sa loob naman is IP based), and someone who can do it for you.
ang mahirap sa analog PABX is pag kailangan mo mag expand, ang mahal ng expansion cards.

I looked this up once... Sa dating study ko... Sa server.. Medyo sulit sya... If pc based softphones ang locals... Mabils mag expand... However kung hardware ip phones ang expansion... Challenge pa since wala pa asyado readily available na ip phone na mura...( havent found a contact in taiwan who can sell cheaper) If you use ordinary phone units naman, you have to get a adaptor... Then yung inbound calls din... Assuming na fr regular pldt lines (rj11 jack) ... Wala akong makitang modems that use a real hardware modem chip ( as opposed to a winmodem software modem) that is cheaper and more commonly available.... Sa presyo ng orig na digium cards.. Medyo mahal sa internet... And not sure where else makahanap ng alternative...

Malaki talaga advantage ng mga IP phones compared sa traditional PABX medyo mahal lang ng konti ang initial investment.

But when you are up and running, pwede mo ma enjoy mag
    1) Teleconference
    2) Control who has access to NDD/DDD
    3) Assign groupings (Marketing / Admin / HR / Etc) to avoid busy line
    4) Call Transfer
    5) Will use the same Local Area Network cabling
    6) Nationwide connection using only one trunkline -- nagkamali ako dati dial ng local na connect ako sa Visayas branch wala ako naintindihan sa greetings

Saw a few on ebay. If my theory is right, PABX works just like routers. So just program it, and leave it on. The cheapest one was around $100. 3 lines up to 8 extensions. The unit is just slightly bigger than a router.

Ip phones are the receivers or handsets you use... This can be purely software ( win, mac or linux) or real hardware phone. Aside from power supply, it needs a network connection. It will get its own ip address within your network.

Sa ip na pabx, it will depend on your hardware peripherals din... But the software ( asterisk etc) can pretty much handle the calls basta a na configure a yung hardware... If you ave the hardware to connect to a rj11 jack, or an E1 line... The pabx software can handle the calls...

Yung scenario na internet based ang incoming mo is if you dont have any other hardware installed to connect to your regular landline... Sa mga call centers i think thats the technology used... Internet connection with a huge bandwidth at sa internet na pinadadaan lahat ng tawag... Hiwalay pa ata yung mismong internet subscription and yung telco service that routes the landline calls to the internet...

If you dont have a connection to your lcal telco for calls, your ip pabx will pretty much be an intercom system sa office nyo... Yun nga lang walang outside calls...

Ang magic nito however... If you have relatives abroad... You can configure it in such a way that they can call you in your own ip pabx ( thru the internet ) ... Tipong may sarili ksng skype service... Hehe.
