What do you mean by self consumption?

Ang explain sa amin, kailangan pa din mag draw sa grid para ma stabilize output ng inverter. Erratic kasi output ng panels.

Joining in na rin. We recently had solar panels installed also. After discussing with the supplier, he suggested to use 6kw & 20kwh for our batteries. I initially wanted to do net metering, but was able to talk to someone na nag apply din ng net metering. His application has been a year na & wala pa rin daw.

As far as I understand it, depends din daw kasi sa area. If madami nag net metering sa area mo, baka daw hindi muna magtanggap si Meralco kasi maybe umabot na sa limit ang kaya ng station nila sa inyo. Once they make new ones to accept the excess kuryente from your solar panels, that's when they can accept applications again. Plus I think Meralco would buy your excess at a discounted price? 50% ba? So if you want to have net metering, dapat sobrahan yung panels. So the cost of the excess panels would take a longer time to recoup because of the discounted buying price of Meralco. So he suggested to go with batteries instead para instant ang savings.

Aside from net metering you might want to check out din Meralco's POP (Peak Off-Peak). Basically mas mahal kuryente during the day up until a certain time at night. Then mas mura kuryente after that till morning. So this would be ideal if wala masyadong tao sa house during the day or if naka solar ka. Mas mabilis daw mag apply nito mga 2 weeks lang. Dapat lang yata same name ng Meralco bill & titulo, otherwise mas matagal lang daw process. Will try to apply for this in the next few months. Here's the link: Peak/Off-Peak | Meralco

So far the 6kw is sufficent during the day. On a good sunny day, by 1pm, naka full charge na batteries ko. On a cloudy day, sometimes late afternoon na. On a rainy day, minimal lang. Then during the night aside from the usual normal consumption, may naka bukas na dalawang 1.5hp na aircon. Then naubos ang battery mga 10pm -12mn. Nag iwan pala ng 30% ang battery in case mag brownout, may konting reserba.

So from the avearge of P20k bill namin, naging around mga P10k+ na lang.

i have had a solar set up for almost 1 and a half year na. I applied net metering since it was installed and up to now wala pa rin.
LGU in Makati is asking for too many paperworks and kailagan ng too many signatories. basically red tape.
Wala pa dyan yung wait for Meralcos approval. makati LGU pa lang yan.
Kaya tama yung use of Batteries.
ako currently looking for a good batteries to add to my solar set up.
i also plan to add more panels.

Ito explanation din sa amin yun self consumption niya is to balance and stabilize yun energy from grid and panel.
